Taken the time to read it now, the actual article is a bit ****y probably written by some hooray Henry Fulham fan, if he thinks Northolt is that bad, I wonder what he'd make of some other places I could show him.
Liked this reply though:

I lived for many years in Northolt and yes, it will never be what is was. The area has become criminalised and suffers from the invasion of illegal foreigners who have deceived the immigration service and I include asylum seekers (parasites) here.
I knew some great people in Northolt having spent many years living at Rectory Park Avenue prefabs all demolished in the 70s and then at the estate near Kingshill Avenue (won’t mention the exact street for security reasons). But like every other town and suburb, it is becoming a “toilet”. It will end up looking like Alperton, Wembley, Southall, Osterly, Hanwell all ruined with communities broken up by ethnic groups who have converted these areas into towns identical to their own countries of origin. They have become no go areas. Yes the chavs are not a very nice element of Northolt and at best, they are crass and unpleasant but those groups are on borrowed time, Northolt will go the same way as the aforemention towns so at least appreciate the chavs for whatever little time they have left in that area. I wish I could name those in this article who lived in the area living legends some of them (without giving too much away, Smudge, Jim L (mega hard), Bunny, Dave T, Earnst and John C (tough guys), Ziggie (hmm), Mick M, Del, Smudge and many more and who drank in The Firefly (demolished years ago), The Brook House not looking as good these days, The Byron Hotel burnt down by scumbags, The Target now a MacDonalds or Burger King Northcote Arms (Southall – off the beat)and the White Hart which always was a bit rough back in the 60s. The Trespassers a band who played on Friday nights at Downe Way JMI School where I met so many great girls and mates. I hate change with a passion but I hate even more the changes to out towns and suburbs by foreigners who have colonised them for themselves. It would be nice to turn the clock back to the 50s and 60s and make all the chavs and immigrants disappear into the ether and bring back the respectable working class who were good people all in all. Good bye Northolt! and the fond memories!<applause>

That reply brought a tear to my eye and reminded me of some very happy memories......
I'm proud to of been brought up in Northolt, i was brought up by a hard working mother and father who taught me right and wrong.
I'm proud to of got a decent education at Downe Manor/Walford Schools.I've got a decent job, a decent wage and a decent family.
Shame some of the Bankers and Politicians in this country can't say the same.

Yep, and 'Bogarts' in the Tithe Farm, another closed pub.
Lucky I don't drink anymore, I'd be getting depressed!

Nice one staines. I was born in perivale mat hospital and lived at number 2 Mowbray gardens in northolt very happily as a child for many many years

I've not been back for years, maybe I shouldn't if it's really gone that bad

My parents moved 'up' to Park Royal and finally to Camden where I spent my teenage years but I have very happy memories of northolt Ruislip west Drayton Hayes & wembley park where my extended family lived

Maybe time to show my kids where I grew up?

The missus, as a young girl, lived in Batman Close, a stones throw from the loft. Fast forward a few years & we're living in Union Road having bought our first property then moved to Greenford for a spell then back to the same estate as Union Road, Farrier Road off of Kensington Road in Northolt back in the 80's. A couple of minutes drive was Gallaghers, the *** makers! My 2 sons were born in Perivale maternity hospital. The best thing was Loftus Road was 15 minutes drive up the A40. Enjoyed every minute of it! Moved to the South East in 91 & been here ever since.

I too used to frequent the same haunts as Queenslander & also some haunts further afield in the likes of Ealing, Rayners Lane, South Harrow & a few jaunts up town. Also, I can remember going to places like Chiswick, Hammersmith, Richmond. Southall was an amazing place!

further afield meant boulevard, bogarts, Herny's richmond, cinderella's richmond and for southall...america's, shadows, barbarellas. featherstone arms, havelock.....

PS..Dave o'cane may be a friend of ours...how old are you again

Blueberries..best pub on earth ever...!!
