    Jurgen Klopp

But in reality I have no idea, I think we would be looking abroad though.

It's funny, but I think I might go for Redknapp. I can't think of a better manager we could realistically get.

Gordon Strachan, but he may be interested in the Scotland job because Craig Levein's time looks to be running out.

What Redknapp needs is no budget. We have one (particularly on the wage front). Therefore Nicola won't be interested.

Given a fixed team with no opportunities for new players until January, I do not think Redknapp is the manager for us. Adkins will do a better job with players he knows, so he should at least be given until then. We had a decent experienced side when we went down with Redknapp.

I hope this is just media talk...if he's managed/played for Southampton he must be going back. I don't usually want the dreaded Chairman's support for a manager, but this time I would like a statement about Nigel (won't get it of course). I think solid backing will settle the players nerves and ours.

It's a good question, and having thought about it, I would want someone who is relatively young, would be able to treat the club like a 'project' for the long-term, is intelligent and open to new ideas and modern coaching methods, wants to bring youngsters through the academy and into the first team, represents the club well and gives people a positive feeling about the future of the club.

And I can't think of anyone who would be able to do all of that anywhere near as well as Adkins.

If he was at another club, having achieved what he has done here, he would be top of all our lists to be our next manager. Let's not throw that away after a few underwhelming matches.

I couldn't agree more PTF, getting rid of NA now would be a short sighted decision and one born of panic. The team is still evolving and very much a work in progress, ok the defence have made some glaring individual errors but the team on the whole have been performing quite well. Nigel is a loyal and honourable man (remember how he stalled over joining us until Scunthorpe had a fair compensation package) and his success since he joined us means he should be given a bit of time to get things right. This is the first time as Saints manager that he has had a few bad results and every manager has bad runs, even Fergie and Redknapp and IMO we could miss out one of the brightest young managers building an exciting future for the club by firing him too early.

No one as our Nigel is going nowhere. Now think up a sensible question.

Dawson and Reid... offer accepted, but they fancied Spurs more. Maybe Harry wasn't as persuasive as we thought.

I don't know, he lives in swanage doesn't he? Bit of an easier drive to work!

Trixter makes a good case all in all I think. Somebody made a point about him attracting the right players in Jan too. This could literally make all the difference to staying up? Would be very sad if Adkins goes, but football may be passionate, but there is not much room for sentiment these days.

I did laugh at Matt Le Tiss' son saying that Steve Bruce is the answer to all our problems. <laugh>

I think PTF has got it spot on.

Pardew was sacked because he was already in talks with Ashley. Had been seen doing the casinos with him and obviously when questioned by NC couldn't look him in the eye. Co-incidence we were 'struggling'.....after 3 games?

Tell you one thing, if you part company with Adkins, the currently manager-less Championship clubs will be fighting each other to get him. Do you think Bolton would be taking a punt on Freedman if Adkins were available? Never in a month of Sundays. <ok>

So he was blessed with sensational young talent while at WH. He'd have had to have to been a complete idiot not to give them a go.

Rose and Livermore? Oh, wow. Big whoop. And wasn't Rose signed from Leeds any way? (Might be wrong there).

And Pompey, what about them? What great youngsters did he bring through with them? Jamie Ashdown?

And I give him no credit for bringing through Walcott with us, just for giving him his debut. In the Championship.

So yes, one fantastic youth team in the late 90s, and zilch ever since.
