    Predicted this on Monday.....

Usual names being trolled about - Coyle would be a good shout, McCarthy a better one.

What's Peter the Pointer up to nowadays ?

Until a few weeks back he was at Aston Vanilla, part of McCliesh's backroom staff!

As many Ipswich fans have pointed out this is a step but not the be all and end all. There is much more to do
If they are to do anything this season.

Could an inspirational new manager save them? Absolutely, look what happened with us. Who do they get... **** knows! It is a really difficult one to call. Lots of factors have caused this demise and jewell was only a small part.

In fairness to Dowie, the last time he took over a side in the bottom three of the Championship they got promoted! If I remember correctly, Palace were third bottom after 22 games and he took them up via the play-offs. That was the year we won the league as well. :)

I saw him in the Directors box at the Ajax & Borrussia games, I almost **** myself!!!!
I wouldn't wish him on the binners, that would be cruel!

I have posted on their board that they might like to consider Ronnie Corbett, well it been hilarious so far might as well keep up the tradition!

I hope they don't get Mick McCarthy, because I actually quite like him, not particularly as a manager, but he makes me laugh on MOTD.

It wouldn't surprise me if they go for a similar type of manager to Paul Jewell, that I mean a has been. Could see Curbishley getting it myself.

I do think that in situations like this where piss taking is the order of the day we do tend to forget that we are talking about the life and feelings of a fellow human being. I accept that Jewell has failed in his job and paid the price but it has been a very public failure and a humiliation that both he and his family have had to live through. The level of his failure also probably means that he will never again get a job in the career that he chose and loves. I accept that he has been well paid and probably does not have any financial worries but as has been often said there is a limit to how much golf you can play. All of us have our highs and lows but when you have a low it does not make you a bad person. If a Manager has not succeded at a Club then, quite rightly, he loses his job but do they also deserve personal abuse? I don't think so and I would include Roeder in that senario.

    Hmmmmmm

Ipswich must make a very attractive proposition for a manager

Bottom of the league, a ton of loan players, a ton of rubbish players, no money, badly run, decreasing gates within surroundings about as pleasant as Chernobyl.

Old 'arry must be chomping at the bit to join them.

If you don't vent your feelings about this sort of thing at a game you don't get change. Its not a democratic process where you get to vote the person out. Fans trying to get rid of a manager is not an organised process.

I accept that to some extent but surely once he has gone the personal abuse should stop?

Yes you are correct and I wrote a post to that effect earlier on today. Football is one of the few things that stokes up human emotions especially as most fans love their football club. Jewell is guilty of being totally inept but that doesn't excuse personal abuse. I have called him a useless **** many times! Although I will not look back at his time as manager with any fondness I wish him well in whatever he decides to do in the future.
