I'd like to see Ward-Prowse playing in an advanced CM role with the instruction to feed the front 3 early, Morgan and Davis can play deeper and win the ball.
I think that this is the game to find out what Mayuka can do and we are lacking a bit of raw pace in the team.

Very true. And the main reason I completely understand and mostly support Nigel's approach to the West Hame game and starting Lambert from the bench, which I still wouldn't have done myself but am accepting of.

Rather depressingly, and I don't meant to hijack the thread - but a 5live presenter and a Sky reporter who covers Saints have both alluded to Cortese telling Nigel that some players must be involved/start and the like. It might be commonplace for all I know, but it doesn't sit well with me.
 
Well, if that is the case then he can't be sacked can he. I just can't imagine how that could possibly work, it can't. And if you were the chairman picking the team, you'd go & buy some ****-hot defenders to make yourself look good, wouldn't you. Sounds like bull to me.

It depends to what extent the influence is, is it just saying certain players must be in the squad when available? Is it one player?

Lots of players?

Any influence is bad, whether it be one player or ten.
Anyway, I'm not going to go along with all these things that are coming out, sounds to me like theres a different agenda.

I'll be happy with any team as long as there's a right back at right back and a left back at left back. Bugger off Scotland/England U21s.

Making it up like the rest of the others, no way they would know any more than we do. It would be logical if NC has splashed the cash on players that he wouldn't want to see them warming the bench, but the final call still has to be Nigels.
 
Sheep absolute sheep , of course he is interfering , Adkins is a patsie and I feel genuinely sorry for the man , he will be push by Cortese for Cortese's mistakes .
There's no way a manager would come into this League without better defenders , if Adkins was happy with the current squad he deserves to go , if not Cortese must be held to account .

What about Mayuka then? Has the hallmarks of a Cortese signing, came from a Swiss club, an attacker when we already had a bus full of them. Yet has probably only mustered about 45 mins of football. Instead J-Rod has been getting the nod over him, a player widely accepted to be an Adkins acquisition, Adkins having made no secret of his admiration of him over the last couple of seasons?
 
i cant see any formation or player selection that will give me hope for the weekend, unless Pique is available, may need Alba too...

The only choice that most on here think is strange is playing JROD ahead of Rickie, but there is no chance NC would demand that JROD play, Yoshie is playing out of position but that is due to injuries. Other than that NA basically picks the team that most on here agree with
 
was hoping that Bale would be injured when he was not playing against Chelsea, does anybody know if he is a daddy yet (hope he-she looks like its mother :p) Spurs fans are pretty angry with him and some are blaming him for the defeat
