Heard Jewell didn't leave his seat all night.

He's gone, big question is who replaces him?

I think short term they need Mick McCarthy, and long term they need someone fresh, young and exciting. When we were in this position, going for the club hero (Gunn) didn't work out, so they need to learn from that.

McCarthy would make perfect sense for them as a short-term solution. But they seem a bit like we were four years ago - almost determined to make a bad situation even worse. We'll see.

Ipswich fans are being taken for a ride. Evans is blatantly using their club for tax purposes and he certainly isn't going to make a loss on his investment. A little research brings up this.

The Ipswich accounts presented to shareholders at their AGM in 2011 show the following interest payments:

2009 – £3,100,000
2010 – £3,133,000
2011 – £3,311,000

By this years AGM, on current estimates that would make it about £13m taken out of their club over 4 years, ALL OF IT to Marcus Evans as no bank is involved. So the full debt he bought from Aviva was around £35m but he only purchased it for around £6m (saving himself £29m which he can still charge interest on) so he has more than comfortably repaid his initial payout back to himself. Ok, he has still been funding the club – estimates vary, though cost cutting has occurred but the clubs debt is still outstanding and has now more than doubled to a total liability of over £73m including £8m in shares and £35m of loan notes redeemable in 2026 I understand. Evans only needs to charge the interest payments for a while longer and he'll have fully reclaimed his entire outlay, whether he gets paid for the full debt or not.

Marcus Evans isn’t going to lose. The fans are the only ones who can lose here.

They are now officially the strongest team in the championship - after all they are holding all the other teams up above them!!! Wonder if any of their fans who mocked us when we went down to league 1 will show their faces and be prepared to take the flack if they go down to leagiue 1 at the end of the season. Perhaps Mikey will pester their board instead

I can guarantee that a few of them will show up for a ribbing, for that very reason I won't be too hard on them, I still remember how much it hurts!

Supers, the problem I have with this conspiracy theory is thus:

- He stands to make far more money if the club are successful. Therefore why deliberately sabotage things?

- We would be paying interest to a bank, so why not Marcus Evans?

- An owner who is not getting a return on his investment is not a sustainable owner

I have to say what ever happened (or didn't happen) post match last night has still got everyone confused, and as you say we can't even sack our manager properly... and he can't resign properly, we really do resemble an absolute shambles. The fact that our owner is sitting on a beach in Barbados doesn't make it any more palatable and I'm only hoping that the decision for Paul Jewell to go his own way is being delayed so they can speak face to face.

It does beg the question however of where is Clegg and what does he do in situations like this? Paul Jewell was in his office watching a DVD so where was Clegg when Hutchings had to face the media?
