I think we need Falcao, and a CM of the Modric mould. Then we will be the finished article, our attacking forwards are as good as anyones in the world and the defence is okay in that the personnel are there, I think they just need to sort themselves out. Between JT, Cahill, Ivo, Cole, Luiz, Bertrand and the unpronouncable name guy, that back 4 can be solid. But Torres is not the main man......disappears from matches far too often. Falcao and a Lampard replacement please.....
Tell you what: Take your time and post on here exactly what you think the FFP rules mean. And then when you have done that tell us why the purchase of a couple of players and the sale of a couple would, even with a net transfer deficit, leave CFC in breach of the rules. No speculation please, just the facts and when you have done that you may get an answer that is slightly more sensible than your initial utterance.

Im not saying this out of desperation or because we lost tonight, just an observation on how we may improve the squad going forward. This isnt a "sack Di Matteo" thread or anything like that. So please SW6....explain to me why you think our squad is perfect?
I think we need a striker, not JUST because of how poor Torres is but for depth if anything... CM we are fine I think, Ramires and Mikel are brilliant together, would've helped if we'd kept Meireles though.
Bodanki has got it absolutely spot on. Ramires is playing well, but does not give us the domination in midfield we lack. Torres is not getting the right ball, but even when he does he is not delivering. Falcao would be great, but still think the midfielder is the key. Has been this way for 2 seasons now and still we are not addressing the problem. Oh and Robbie, NEVER EVER play Lampard and Mikel. Lamps is all but finished for mine, Cole is getting iffy, and JT is just too preoccupied with other stuff. Time for a good long think regarding the future of those 3.
Agree with the sentiments on Torres - once again fails to deliver (Sheva II)why did we leave ourselves way short of cover up front ironic when you consider the Mancs have plenty to choose from? As for the Shaktar game we're fortunate that Cech is back to his best form; even with Terry at the back we were a total shambles at the back, marking was non-existent, Shaktar forwards not closed down and we looked decidely lightweight in the middle........a 5-1 scoreline would not have flattered the Ukranian outfit. So, central defender (ramos) perhaps move "Sideshow Bob" into midfield and for the umpteenth time of asking a decent target man preferably a goal-hanger to do what we've waiting for Torres to do on a regular basis................SCORE!!!
Why should it be perfect? Show me the perfect squad? We've just spent £70m on midfielders and you're wanting us to spend £70m more. We're top of the league, dropped two points, got a superior gd but got beaten by a good team in europe in a tough stadium because the most of the team were ****e, not two players. Here's my input: Appreciate what we've got, because its a million miles from what we had, and stop all this bullshit about we must have them because we're not good enough without them. We've got one of the best teams in Europe, with a solid management team and a decent if slightly intefering owner. Have Utd got the best squad? No. Did they chase the **** out of City last year. Yes. It's not about big players, it's about how you employ people to perform a task and play as a team.
If we were to bring in Falcao, it would certainly mean the end for Torres at Chelsea. Thing is he will cost at least £60-65m.
A CM is not needed. If we get desperate the club can recall De Bruyne or even McEachran. However, I agree with the desire to purchase a new striker. Not only are we light there at the moment, what we do have isn't working and Lukaku is the only young striker we have near the first team abut he's not ready, though I wouldn't be at all disappointed if he started for us next season. Falcao is 45m minimum. Its a big ask.

I think all your imput is correct SW6, but it still doesn't change the fact that to correct our weaknesses, we need a better striker and/or a midfielder to merge the front and back of our team. Love to see Josh or Piazon fill the midfield position, and maybe RDM has it in mind to play them in our "easier games", ( bit hard with Josh not there ). At seasons end sure there will be some goings and hopefully 2 comings, front and centre.

I see what you are saying and agree about Piazon and McEachran, but we have a centre forward in waiting in Sturridge. He's quick as you like, selfish as anything and can finish. I saw him at Bolton a few times and he was mustard, anyone that can score 7 or 8 in 11 games for them is not to be overlooked. Because he played on the wing for us but was too selfish to pass instead of shooting he's taken a load of stick and been over looked. If its about attitude then that's what managers are for.
