We're quite a funny lot us on the forum.

We all have quite different views, and all think we know best!

Commonly, we often blame the manager and think we know best.

Now, what would YOU do lineup wise for tonight's game, and why?

    Personally - the following:-

Henderson in goal - I don't rate Loach and apparently had a good game last time out.

Edwards/ Chambers / Higgy / Moshni - Cresswell cannot defend, and Moshni will stop the balls coming in

JET / Wellens / Reo Coker / Martin - Gonna gamble as must win, and go with 4 with 2 up. Definitely have to replace at least 1 CM after 70 due to fitness though!!!

Chopra / DJ - give them a go. Attacking yes, but we need to win. Perhaps too open, I don't know, but I would like to see that team tried.

    Henderson
    Ainsley, Chambers, Higgs, Cressy
Edwards, Reo, Wellens, Martin or Murphy
    JET
    DJ

Edwards to move forwards so he can beat the full back and get crosses in, as well as giving Ainsley help behind him.
JET for me is wasted out wide, he's not a fan of tracking back and I think we would see more of his brilliance more often were he to be deployed in the centre behind the striker.
Martin to start to help create an early goal, Murphy to come on later to help Cressy out defensively as we try to hold on to the lead.

I had forgotten about Ainsley, that's a good shout as last time he got a game he was superb.

I think the only change I would make is Moshni in for Cressy as westlake suggested (as long as he plays there? I thought he was a CB/Striker because of his height?). Cresswell simply hasn't been good enough recently. I would be interested to see how Edwards does on the wing again, he certainly still has his threat going forward.

I agree 100% JET would be FAR more effective in the centre, when he is out wide it looks to me as though he just gets bored! At least in the middle he would get the ball a lot more.

I would put Murphy on first, and keep Martin as a sub to either replace Murphy or JET depending on how they are both performing/who is most tired. I think Martin would be good coming in off the bench, as his energy and pressure he puts on the defenders could really make an impact as the defenders tire.

Henderson - reward for a good debut, make Loach work for his position back

Ainsley - Would have put Edwards but i find my self agreeing with SD, Ainsley performed better in his last outing
Chambers and Higgs - dont break up the partnership
Mohsni - To fill in the position to allow cresswell to move forward

Edwards - Didnt perform overly well here underkeane, but its essentially the same role with less of an emphasis on defending
Hyam and Drury - Surprising choice maybe, but this was the 'successful' partner ship of the end of last season
Cresswell -Same reasoning as Edwards, allow him to focus on attack

    JET
DJ Power, Skill and finishing abilty in both of them

    Bench

    Loach
    Smith
    Wellens
    Reo
    Martin
    Murphy
    Scotland

    Wright,
I would prefer to start slightly more attacking to get an early goal to defend than start defensively and bring Martin on later to try and score.

    Holmes,
Hyam next to Reo could be a good shout. Drury's not been up to it lately and Hyams stability would allow Reo more freedom. Think I'll change my mind and drop Wellens because he's not here for very long.

Just for a laugh (and ignoring the horrible defensive deficiencies of our central defenders for the moment) I’ll mitigate our full-back’s defensive inadequacies by positing a wing back formation (well – bugger all else ever works).

    GK: Henderson

CDs: Ainsley – Chambers – Moshni (or Henders if you prefer)

    Wing backs: Edwards – Cressy

MF: Reo Coker – Hyam (is he fit??) – N’Daw (is he still here???)

Free Role: Martin (or JET if he’s a bag of tarts)

    F: Campbell

Not too worried about my vagueness over central midfield as we currently have three thousand of them.

Is Smiffy knackered after his NZ exploits? Is has he just arsed everyone off enough not get mentioned?

Smiffy's just not good enough, I think we all hoped he would come good but it's not happening.

    This is the official lineup:

    Henderson
    Edwards, Chambers, Higginbotham, Cresswell
    Drury, Reo-Coker, Wellens, Martin
    JET, Campbell

subs: Loach, Smith, Hyam, Carson, Mohsni, Chopra, Scotland

SD, the reason I left Martin on the bench to come on late, is because I believe bringing on Murphy to replace either JET in the centre/Martin on left wouldn't have much of an effect.

Whereas if Martin came on, if we are loosing then his energy should give the whole team a kick up the backside to really push on and if we are winning he will keep the defenders on their toes and not dare to push forward and get a goal back. I guess it all depends on the form of the players on the pitch at the time though!

How about a Spain-style strikerless 4-3-3. That sort of thing always floats my boat:

    GK: Henderson

Back Four: Ainsley – Two of Chambers/Moshni/Henders/Smiffy – Cressy

    Deep M/F 3: Reo Coker – Hyam (if he’s fit) – N’Daw (if he’s here)

    Attacking M/F 3: JET – Martin – Carson

As I said, bugger all PJ tries works. He might as well have a go at some of these!

I was about to say that perhaps our players aren’t quite educated (in a footballing way, obviously) of operating a Spain strikerless formation, but it’s probably more the coaching staff that would be confounded by it.

i mentioned on a previous thread about playing 3 CBs as I think it would suit Cresswell & edwards better
To suggest playing Ainsley & Moshni at the full back positions is a bit of a cop out (sorry - just my opinion). there is no way that is going to happen under PJ but it gives the posters a chance to say "told you so"

I said a few times last two seasons that if we can't stop goals going in maybe we should play three at the back. It's an embarrassing way to play though, saying basically " we're **** and we know it"

I don't know if that was directed at my 3 Central Defender / Wing Back formation, but Ainsley and Moshni were two of the three central defenders.

Well, lets hope for a decent game, and the ship doesnt go down quite yet!

Anyone know where we can listen in...BBC Suffolk off air down here on S coast!

Maybe, just maybe everyone is in last chance saloon tonight...and the players play for PJ and he does nothing stupid...and we get a result.

You have to subscribe to the ITFC website iPlayer, SouthCoast.

You get all live commentaries (all live commentaries from any game in the Championship for the whole season, should you be vaguely interested in other teams local radio commentaries), plus video highlights, interviews and stuff. About £35 a year.

Absolutely shocking sound quality and video quality though. At least it is with my setup. I keep checking my sound is fantastic hifi quality, my video is ok etc. Every time I listen to Radio Suffolk on the iplayer it might as well be from a tin can and a piece of string and if I watch highlights of a game it might as well be scanned images from the 19th century.

:emoticon-0101-sadsmLooks like curtains again...how many games have we now lost in last minute! Oh well, that looks like the end for the road for PJ - nice bloke, wrong manager, wrong time, wrong tactics, erratic selections, no strategy for short or long term...L1 here we come...dont believe I am writing this..grrrr
