What a disgrace this country has in its sentencing laws. A bloke carries out a timely and legitimate protest at elitism and privilege and jumps in the Thames and disrupts the boat race for 30 minutes. He gets 6 months. A scabby two bob chav runs onto a pitch smacks a goalie in the face drops him and gets 4 months.

Now isn't that the example of elitism that this guy was protesting about? Bloody disgrace.

Just shows you how the ra ras look out for themselves.

Don't often agree with you wholeheartedly typical, but I do this time.

I was initially very pleased that this moron had been put away with due speed, but when I saw the sentence, I just thought "what's the point"?

It's not as if this bloke hasn't got previous, either.

I'm still trying to work out how he was still standing up after drinking as much as he had - if I'd drunk that much, I think I'd be dead.

The elite will always protect their own interests, the rest of us have to trust to pot luck.

The skool of life me mate, onuors degree.

The point being is that 76% percent of judges are Oxbridge and the judge said the protestor had prejudiced the rowers!! Ffs. This guy was protesting at the welfare cuts where people have died! So I would say his protest was sincere and honest and legitimate , and hardly prejudiced anyone with a delay of thirty minutes woudnt you say.

So what did that sentence say " you horrible little oik, how dare you interupt an outdated, imperialist display of wealth, breeding and privilege that us aristrocats shove down your puny working class throats each year"

But to slap a goalie, drink 7 ciders a litre of vodka and show no evidence of drunkeness when returning to the stands to get backslapped by your mates and create massive condemnation around the footballing world. You get less jail time.

I'm seriously reconsidering doing a massive dump on the starters chair at the Henley regatta next year, I might get life.

He hasn't drunk that much- no chance. Typical, agree completely also. The maximum was 6 months, so the judge let him off 2 months because he contacted the police (and sky sports) the next day. By email.

To quote tewkes, what's the point?

Blimey this is a first I actually agree with something Typical has posted.I do not understand the rationale behind the sentences. The Thames swimmer was endangering himself but got 6months and the scrot gets 4months,bizarre.

Lads, just for the record the 4 months is for breaching his banning order. Assault charge hasn't gone to court yet. Also got 5 year banning order, life ban from Leeds and can't go within a mile of any ground
they are playing at. Agree with all the above points

    Thanks

I don't think your right I heard he plead guilty to assault and got the 4 months. I don't think you can sentence someone twice, it has to be a concurrent sentence.

4ever needs a job at the bbc, SSN etc.

Relieved to know he isn't getting away so lightly. I just hope they make an example out of him for his assault charge

Your perfect for the red tops. Keep it up. Factually wrong and quoting an unknown source! Don't worry about it, the way I read it was ambiguous to say the least in one news report.

Amazing that the Thames bloke got any time in prison.

No way did the Leeds fella drink what he says he did. Maybe 4 cans (440ml) and a litre of vodka and coke at absolute max, probably not even that much. They talk a good game.

About ten years ago, I went on a pub crawl through Waltham Abbey. I drank one in the first pub, two in the second, three in the third etc, etc. At the end of fourteen hours I had consumed approximately forty pints of lager, twenty double vodkas, five Bloody Marys, half a bottle of red wine, a curry, a tray of sarnies and copius amounts of pork scratchings. I weighed over twenty stone at the time, but still managed to walk the ten miles home at 2am.

I haven't touched a drop of alcohol in almost three years.

    Wow.

I used to be able to work it out but I can safely say that if you did that now your survival rate would probably be less than 25%.

Many factors influence how alchohol affects you height weight, muscle tissue food consumption, tolerance and damn youth but the real killer is the speed of the intake and the livers capacity to absorb. The liver can handle one standard size drink per hour at its healthiest. Your blood alcholhol consumption is called BAC and a driver in this country has a limit of 0.08% or two standard drinks. A bac of 0.30 will put a bloke is a coma 0.40 will kill most men. 0.50 is guarenteed to kill you.

So I reckon the pork scratching could have been your life saver. Fatty foods like PS will slow the aborbation rate and gave the liver a break They would have slowed the alchohol intake into the liver allowing enough time for it to absorb. (just)
