I said on another thread regarding ways of bigger crowds that i thought instead of these 2o% off ideas ect which do not seem to get advertised very well would it not be a good idea to let season pass holders take someone for a fiver or £10, in this way pass holders will do the advertising for the club and most not all would gladly take a friend/ family ect, i am sure this is the best way to increase the crowd by a few thousand
I think its a great idea! Allocate a section of the ground for concession tickets and the pass holders could soon fill it full of their mates
i also meant to say our last home crowd against Ipswich was up a thousand compared to the previous home game but ticket prices were £20 anywhere in the stadium and kids 11 to 15 only £3 in the south stand hence the increase
Well westhulltiger the way i look at it is if a pass holder takes a friend/ family member ect then the pas holder would not feel has though he losing out because he is taking someone he knows well, also if he went in to work mentioned it to workmates or close friends and family then he is advertising in the best way for the club, you only need three thousand pass holders taking one person each and its an extra three thousand on the gate, i do think if they offered tickets for a fiver a lot of pass holders would be upset but if its someone they know then they would not be so annoyed, i know you always get a few who would moan but i think the majority would be happy to see the ground nearly full has i am sure the players would. Its just one idea i don't know if anyone has any better one's
I think this would be a great idea, I guess the down side would be that you wouldnt be able to sit with your mate and would possibly put people of
Don't forget if you wanted to take someone and it was just the odd game you can move your seat to sit with them, i do it now if i take my daughter, i know everyone could not do it but certainly the first 3 or 4 thousand could, the other idea of course like westhull said open the North stand to home fans thats a big area with the small amount of away fans we seem to get these days or you could just do it when you are playing a team that you know are only going to bring a couple of hundred
Best way to build the crowd is simple. Play like last Saturday and win. Thats all it takes. Cheap tickets only work now and again, not every week.
The problem in this day and age mel is unless your top of the league people just will not pay the money and lets face it its easier said than done, anyway it only has to be done on half a dozen games through out the season and it keeps people who would not normally go interested. Do it against teams were you know there is no away support and lets not forget its not just us most clubs are having to look at ideas
