I've just been reading that Shakhtar Donetsk have won their last 21 (yes--TWENTY-ONE) League games--Home AND Away! That makes even Chelsea's impressive League record look very ordinary. Are we ready for this mega confrontation? I bet their fans think they walk on water! It would make a victory over there very special! Can we do it--that is the question?
We should not underestimate them at all. We should play a strong side. They held Juve to a draw in Italy which is no mean feat. With Juve expecting 6 points from the next 2 games we must match that against Shakhtar to hope to win the group. We don't want to need to head to Juve needing a win to win the group.
Tough away game this. Mind you aren't they all ???? Surely have to play our strongest team in CL, adjust for the opposition in the PL and play some of the up and comers in the FA and whatever the other one is called these days. We can't win all 4, and may win none if we really try for all 4. Priorities are what we need to concentrate on. We should beat Donesk, but a score draw will do me.
Don't worry guys I've put money on two accumulators...you draw In one and lose in the other...you need nothing more to be assured of a victory!
The ref for this game is Damir Skomina, so are we all happy with this ? I'd like to hear negatives and positives.
Sorry went AWOL . http://www.goal.com/en/news/2898/eu...dent-cardsman-euro-2012-referee-damir-skomina Not sure how links work on here so fingers crossed. But there was mention in this of a controversy when he was refereeing a Chelsea match " Despite having little to back up his verbal attacks, Benfica president Luis Felipe Vieira was vocal in his criticism of the referee after his team were defeated by Chelsea in this season's Champions League.
Fair result. Played in 2nd gear all night mind, we let them dominate through sloppiness. Sunday is what matters though.
