In a day where modern footballers idea of loyalty is signing a double your money contract or I'm off. And kissing the badge means I'm as passionate as you fans, till i leave at the end of the season.Isn't fantastic to see a loyal player like Jamie Carragher, set to go equal second in the all time appearance's list along side Emlyn Hughes and Ray Clemence if he plays tomorrow against Newcastle.

Although rival fans disrespect Carra as a player, he's the epitome of all that's good in a footballer. Honest, committed, loyal, fair, a leader, and inspiration to younger players. Although a BN as a kid, he's as much Liverpool FC as Shanks, Bob and more. Well done Jamie, lets hope for a few more games yet.

Ian Callaghan got the most well over 800..Seeing as Jamie's 33, may struggle to get there!!

Never going to beat that! He should get between 700-750 which is good enough!

Carra has been a loyal servant to LFC. It is good to know there is a sense of loyalty in football. Well done Carra and good luck for the rest of your career.... Except tomorrow!

Cally made 857 appearances and got booked........once.He's the only player to play in Bill Shankly's promotion winning team of 1962 until the League Championship and European Cup winning team of 1977.Carra is second only to him.Its a remarkable achievement that our two highest appearance holders came through the ranks.Cally succeeded his idol Billy Liddell in the Liverpool team, and Carra gets better with age.Carra could easily make over 700 appearances. He possibly could have made more, but remember when he started he was a utility player. He could play everywhere,He started in midfield, played both right and left back, and started his career in Liverpools under 18s up front.

Didn't Callaghan only ever get 1 England cap as well, due to Alf Ramsey's wingless approach at that time?

He's been Liverpools finest Liverpudlian defender since Phil Thompson.Even if Carra was a boyhood bluenose. We'll forgive him for that as he's seen sense in his later years.Robbie Fowler was a bluenose until he was 10 and got a lift home in King Kenny's merc, and then he was converted.
