Hi all, really short of time today, this is a quick copy and paste for the match thread ! ENJOY THE GAME !! Cardiff v Watford KO 19:45 . 22 October 2012 Last updated at 14:44 GMT Cardiff striker Craig Bellamy is expected to return to action for the first time since early October after recovering from a knee problem. Manager Malky Mackay's options are also likely to be boosted with the return of Jordan Mutch following a foot injury. Watford are again without skipper John Eustace (back), Neuton (ankle) and Nyron Nosworthy (hamstring). Defender Joel Ekstrand (ankle) is also a major doubt and will be assessed ahead of the clash in south Wales. MATCH FACTS Head-to-head • There's only one win between these clubs after 46 league meetings spanning 81 years; Cardiff have won 18, Watford 17. • Both last season's meetings in the Championship were 1-1 draws. • The 4-1 win at Vicarage Road in December 2010 is Watford's only triumph in nine Championship matches with the Bluebirds, and the Hornets have not taken maximum points off these opponents in Wales since September 2007. Cardiff City • Saturday's 3-1 defeat away to Nottingham Forest, ended Cardiff's three-match winning sequence and saw them knocked off the top of the table. • Victory for Malky Mackay's current side against his former club, will see the Bluebirds retain their 100% home league record and take their total of points under the current boss to 100. • The club trailing leaders Leicester on goal difference, are two goals shy of conceding 2,500 in second level league football. Watford • Watford have won three of the last four Championship games; their best form under current manager Gianfranco Zola. • 56 of the Hornets' 129 goal attempts were on target, which at 43.41% is the lowest proportion of accuracy in the division. • If this game ends in a draw, the Vicarage Road club will then have gained 1,500 points in second tier soccer.
thanks Mex...i'm really desperate to go to this match but the person i was going with may not be able to go...think i might just go anyway...never been to a match on my own! Should be interesting!
I was hoping to go, but as dad (my transport) is working it aint gunna happen. Im sure you will be fine on your own xx.
Really? I dont finish work in Hemel till 5 and doubt I could finish early . If I werent working I would love to go. Plus I dont know the ticketing arrangements.
tickets can be bought at the gate..but i'm guessing we'd need to leave by 3 latest...i was thinking of leaving at 2pm to be on the safe side...
well, if you can, let me know...i'm going to probably go, since i promised myself the trip...so if you want to come, or can get the time off, just drop me a text and we can arrange to meet somewhere ...it takes 3 hours to get there, so i'll be leaving between 2 and 3...knowing me it'll be nearer 3 lol but i don't want to leave it too late
Ok then. I will ask first thing and let you know one way or the other by 12. Thank you for the offer.
no problem hon, it'll be fun .. i'm going to head to bed, long drive tomorrow ...see you soon, if not sooner! Night night
As for the game itself I dont know how to call it. We have beaten 3rd and 4th so I dont see why we cant beat this lot. But we could also slip up just as easily. I hope the changes hinted at dont upset the apple cart. I also hope that Zola isnt left behind this time like saturday.
Can't believe that Cardiff have upped the ticket price today from £19 to £32...disgusting! Still, we're still going! lol...they can't stop me from being there...COYH!
dynamic pricing, it means that as soon as they are released they are very cheap, like £15 for adult sometimes, and are gradually increased as you get close to the event until you get stung if you pay at the gate. it just means you have to plan what game to book in advance..... anyway, afternoon everyone, i anticipate a good closely battled game..........
Its a bit rough if your work means you dont know till the last minute whether you can go to a game or not, I just call it blatant milking of fans I trust it is £32 for home fans on the night as well.
I think you're right there - it certainly doesn't fall into the category of attracting the custom of visiting fans, it's simply a case of trying to fill coffers at their expense. The only repeat business that they are probably worried about is that of the locals, so I doubt that the £32 would apply to them. This sort of pricing strategy may work for airlines & train companies etc where passengers more than likely have to still make their journey - to my mind, football fans may simply choose not to go because they actually don't have to.
