    <laugh> missed the point again.

We don't hype up Fletcher as some sort of hard man compared to you lot with Oops I got hit by a midget Tiote.

Yeh ok course you have, I watch him week in week out and can only recall one dive from Catts when he tried to win a penalty, he was embarrassed after he'd done it and when realised he wasn't going to get anything jumped straight up.

If you can find more than fair dos.

Was that at Blackburn. If so it was one of the worst dives ever.

However if it was Cattermole who made that challenge, the sunderland fans would be saying it was never a red, the ref was on the mags side, and whoever he challenged would have been a pansy who overreacted. And we would have heard the sunderland fans saying it was Catts getting picked on again

So what was that about double standards and Hypocricy?

Oh sorry i forgot that doesnt apply to sunderland fans

We don't hype Cheik up as some sort of hard man. I think that is the point that you have missed all along. He is simply a bit of a cult figure because of his uncomprimising style of play. This hard thing mainly started on the back of the snickers adverts and Cheik looking like BA if I remember rightly? I think you mistake a bit of fun for actually thinking he is a hard man. I have no idea if he is a hard man. Indeed we as supporters have no idea of who is or isn't a hard man. Furthermore what is a hard man defined as? All gripping questions.

I wouldn't like him on the opposite side in training though.............

Anyway back to the real big issue of the weekend, Steven Taylor amassing the most bites in the history of football banter! What a guy. Hook line and sinker, well done Stevie. They even shamed themselves on the day for good measure and had their own manager cringing. If only they'd had O'Neill's quicker working brain to come up with the bench quote eh?

It matters not though, you claimed he wouldn't roll round or play act. He has proven that he will. The fact he is ****e at it is not really the point.

Of course he jumped back up when he realised he wasn't going to get it, was ahrdly going to lie on the floor for the rest of the game was he? So it's settled then Cattermole has dived, and your points are therefore invalid from now on.

Well done for cherry picking a section of the comment and completely ignoring the rest because it's convenient for you.

Keep telling yourselves that enough and you start to believe yourselves. As Flavor Flav so eloquently put it 'don't believe the hype'.

What would everyone estimate the number of Sunderland supporters worldwide to be? That's a lot of bites for wor Stevie. I think fans from both sides have to take their hat off to him really. Incredible work. Even O'Neill admitted the Sunderland players were talking about it. We've seen some sterling banter and wind ups down the years, but never has someone managed to cut so deep.

Wouldn't be complaining if it was Cattermole, studs were high up on leg for no reason, a totally unnecessary challenge when the whistle had already gone <ok>

Don't think Tiote had heard the whistle and his eyes were on the ball, no doubt you think Larsson's was a red as well?

Tiote wasn't diving though was he.....he was rolling around after being hit, two different things mate and things that shouldn't be in the game. So I think you will find my point still stands.

High foot is a yellow I think, although it was ridiculously high so I could understand if it was a red and seen some horrible angles of it.

Well that may be true, it may not! Doesnt really matter, as you know there would be some sunderland fans who would say exactly what i said. In the same way there are some newcastle fans who wont defend Tiote and say it was a red!

All football fans are hypocrites when it comes to their own team and players, some are just worse than others (and by some I mean individual supporters, not a teams entire fanbase)

Fair enough, thought both were yellows personally.

Forgetting the Tiote red, the Larsson challenge and everything else the ref missed or got wrong (for both teams) I just want to say that our players gave everything they've got and as a fan I couldn't me more proud of their performance.

Every player to a man ran themselves in to the ground for the cause and wore the shirt with pride. It was the Newcastle of last season, and probably for the first time this season if we're honest. We were solid and compact at the back, Cabaye and HBA were playing lovely one-two's dictating the game (while we had 11 men). Krul looked relatively assured the one fumble aside and Colo gave as good a performance as I've seen from any centre half in the league.

I firmly believe we are right back on track and hopefully with Pardew talking about already having plans under way to sign another defender in Jan things can only get better. Unfortunately I'm not a Geordie, but performances like that (from the team and our fans) certainly make me wish I was!

I don't get the argument here? ALL footballers are feeble, because if they weren't they'd be playing harsher contact sports like Boxing or maybe lower league Rugby, where their pretty faces are on the line and they get paid less... Think of actors/actresses, the pretty ones are in films, the ugly ones tend to fall to the bottom and become professional waitresses or are forced into the world of graphic hardcore emo porno. Occasionally an ugly one (like Maggie Gyllenhall) will slip through, just like a terrible player like Bramble will end up playing premiership football <whistle>.

What difference does it make to a Sunderland fan whether we ironically, humourously, respectfully or otherwise refer to one of our players as "hard"? Comparatively, Tiote's tough tackling, intense stamina and rock hard pecks make worthy claims for the label "hard" when next to soft-puddings like Bentley, Andy Reid etc. His strength on the ball and technical ability are reasons we admire him, but we aren't really suggesting he's the heavyweight champ or some sort of bloody power-ranger.

So, when I say the sun gravitates around Tiote's bicep, you can take that as my genuine opinion, or like a normal human-being and call me a daft prick!
