Thought Colback was average at best and I would give him equal blame for their goal. Cabaye bust a gut to get into the box as the move moved down our left, Colback dosn't track him at all and saunters back towards our goal, wasn't switched on to potential danger.
Rose was by far our best player...Put Colback at full back and put Rose on the left side of midfield...he has speed, can cross, can beat a man and tracks back....perhaps McClean should sit and watch him for a while, he might learn something.
Of course you'd say that - I heard it, My dad heard it and all of the people in the North Stand around us heard it and commented on it - Don't know why or what it was about but it certainly happened - it could've been something that you were just booing us as we had the ball and Newcastle didn't and it could be a coincidence that it always started when Danny Rose got the ball but it definitely happened
Comfortably your best player yesterday and looks a cracking player. Pacey, skillful and gets balls in the box. Very similar style of play to Baines. Obviously we never got to see much of him on the back foot after the sending off. As someone who has played the majority of his football as a winger then that is where the challenge for him lies. I know he was criticised for the goal but he was pretty unlucky as someone just slipped. Really good prospect.
id stick sess out left against Stoke and drop mclean to the bench. Saha and Fletcher up top, Gardner and Vaughan in the middle
I'd go along with this. It'll be the usual toughie at Stoke, but Gardner and Vaughan have goals in them and that'll help. Maclean is looking ordinary at the moment, although Sess is showing signs of life.
Rose is the brightest spot in the season for me, even more so than Fletch & Mig. When we were first linked I had little interest, although by the time we signed him I was delighted, any left sided player would have done, but **** me, he's been a plus. Quick, athletic, not scared to get stuck in, not scared to get clattered, great feet, quality going forward, loves to take his man on, keen to stay, is there anything the lads done wrong? He sticks to his man really well, Sterling & HBA have both been well marshalled, 2 of the trickiest in the league, I think the lad, with a proper link in midfield could easily march to the player of the season award, being the man that makes things happen from the back Well done Danny, it took about 45 mins for you to have me onside, and now after 7 games, I desperately hope we see you in the shirt for a long, long time. For me, the undercard success of the season, a young Englishman with certain England potential, who we simply must try and secure permanently in January.
It is a deal with an option to keep included, and he wants to be closer to his family in Yorkshire. The stumbling block is we didn't pre-negotiate a fee, we could maybe have had him for £3-5million, but we will be looking at a whole load more if he sustains his form all season.
A lot better than nowt, pal. He wants in, which is the main thing. Plus Mon and co know how to negotiate on price.
