He's bunged a load of cash into North Ferriby United now. Maybe they'll get to use the new stadium in Melton.
This is so weird, I was talking to a former employee of Hull City (now working across the river for another non league club) about this and we agreed that after City, Ferriby were the next highest club so it was strange that nobody had stepped forward and invested. The only problem I think they will face is the lack of room for expansion. If North Ferriby were to be promoted, their ground would be fine at BSN level, but to get into the BSP they'd have to expand and put in more seating, which I don't think can be done. There's the railway on one side, the astroturf on another side and the allotments at the front. Having said that, with enough money they could just buy out the allotments from the tenants and expand that way. Or relocate the astroturf to somewhere else.
? re City players playing for North Ferriby. Can City players play for them regardless or do they have to be registered with North Ferriby (either permanently or loaned). I am guessing the latter. At some point there might be a useful tie up of the Clubs from this angle.
Non league clubs at that level can only sign so many loanees per season. They have to be signed up in exactly the same way as FL clubs.
About time he did. imo We can use them as our reserve team and send kids there instead. The likes of Cooper and Townsend would get more matches and at better standard. North Ferriby could well get into the Blue Square Premier league. Now that is a very good standard for which to give our kids experience. imo
Haha I thought of the solution as I was typing! Would be good though; imagine seeing North Ferriby United on the Football League show one day! I think Cooper is probably too good for that level, ditto Emerton, East and Cullen. However players like Lewis Clarkson (who I think signed pro terms this season) would be perfect.
Is that the same Liam Cooper who has played Premier League football? Or the same Conor Townsend who won Grimsby's Player of the Year award whilst competing two levels higher than North Ferriby in the Conference Premier? You're a total plank, Tickler. Going back to the OP, I think it's good that he's invested in them. I'd be royally chuffed if they could make it into the Conference North, as it's a very good standard of football. They've got a big job ahead of them if they're to win promotion this year though, that's for sure.
This can only be good for football in our area and could well benefit the mighty tigers in the long run. I imagine you could take a team like North Ferriby United quite a way forward for the price of one Proschwitz.
I did not actually mean Liam Cooper and Townsend. They are well passed that stage now. But the likes of them is what i referred to. Some of The current crop of kids for instance as you said TT, are wasting time in a crap reserve league. But playing for North Ferriby would be perfect. Just look at the progress made by Townsend since his Grimsby loan. You really are as thick a pig sh.it Erik. Your not capable of a sensible debate. Of course i did not mean Liam Cooper or Townsend. I said the likes of IF you had read what i said properly and better still fully understood it. Now go away and stand in the corner of the classroom with your "D" hat on.
With the influx of our best up and coming kids i would agree totally. Blue Square PL would be the perfect platform to sort out the wheat from the chaff.
