According to the BBC; Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson has said there could be more transfer activity in "both directions" in the coming weeks. The Foxes moved to the top of the Championship table with a 1-1 draw away against Birmingham City on Saturday. But Pearson told BBC Radio Leicester he may still look to make use of the emergency loan window. "I am pleased with the players we have," he said. "But I'm not ruling out doing any business in both directions." Striker Jermaine Beckford joined Huddersfield in September and midfielder Richie Wellens has also gone out on loan. Pearson added: "The squad at the moment are really stretching each other and we have some healthy competition for places. But we are a lean squad. "We don't have massive numbers but I think if you are able to minimise the number of injuries and suspensions - we had nine sendings off last season - we are in a better position. "But I'm not ruling out doing any business."
Wouldn't mind having a new back up LB and GK and Wellens coming back - unless we can get a better replacement?
I do think we're a little light up top, as proven on saturday. We've used the fewest players this season (21) and I think that is down to having small squad. I don't think a little bit more quality up front will be a bad thing.
Defence we cant afford more then 1 injury. No cover for Konch Midfield is fine Wings are fine Strikers. Nugent and Vardy are the only ones good enough to start. Waggy is nothing more then an impact sub So yeah I would try for a striker. Someone like Simeon Jackson from Norwich
We could really do with a Kevin Phillips. Someone who may be at the end of their career, but they have retained that predatory instinct inside the penalty area. Someone who gobbles up each chance they get. Sadly they're not common.
Think we just need a centre forward. I like Nuge and Vardy but if either are out I dont think our replacements are good enough.
3 swap deals for me Beckford for Falcao Wellens for Sneijder St Ledger for Chester .... .... we need to be planning for next season ... (light the blue touch paper and stand well back) ...
I think we need 2 at the back & some top goal scorer from the prem who ain´t getting to many mins on the pitch.
Only problem is that we'll only be bringing in someone on loan to act as cover- most teams are unwilling to send out players if they have no chance of playing, for obvious reasons. Therefore the only type of player we'd be likely to bring in are young players from Premier League teams- they're going to have more games here than at their parent clubs, or those with a potential agreement to sign in the summer. Wouldn't be surprised if we picked up someone from Man Utd youth team as per, Robbie Brady anyone?
All would be big money signings and it looks like we will be falling foul of the financial fair play rules so would want to keep spending down. Anyway we have a good strike force with 4 senior strikers in Nugent, Vardy, Waghorn and Fuctacs (senior as in they've played at this level before). Would prefer someone with potential - someone like Jeffery Schlupp or Harry Panayiotou. If only we had players like that...
