Letting Carroll go anywhere was a mistake. When a man takes on a job not knowing exactly what he'll need regarding tools. Why would you dispose of some of those tools before you look at what's required. Letting Carroll go was essentially lessening our options up front. Management wise, it is an error all day all week all month all year. Carroll might get a pen. A Carroll type would definitely been useful against Stoke as another option. Sterling and Johnson bombing down the wings to deliver balls into the box, surely a Carroll should be in there to aim at, Not a Suarez and not a Gerrard arriving from outside the box full of defenders. We have no presence in the area at set pieces intermittent Skrtel apart. That is one of the most annoying things about our game right now.
I agree with this. I have noticed this for a while. There seems to be a lack of players who can fight for the ball and then head it with power and accuracy. Skrtel and Gerrard are our best headers of the ball. I remember the likes Kuyt and Lucas who are absolutely atrocious at heading and Suarez is no better.
