Not really, half of the season would have already been lost.

I agree as its up to the manager form may to pick a forward out and he did.. BORINI. he's nowhere neargood enough or ready for the prem and this hurts us badly. the thing about carroll was he ought to have been shovelled out the door in MAY if rodgers felt this way about him (and still does) so in reality we've a 20-25mil player if he scores afew for west ham who we'll sell for 12-15 mil next summer and we'll not have a forward as we laodned him on the thurday without a deal lined up and done.

sturridge was never on in the summer, dempsey was an embaressment. 3mil fee? got fulhams backs up? it must have cost fulham what 3mil to spite us but they did. we should have told fulham to go do one ealry august and bought someone... ANYONE decent for the mony. 6mil=3mil on yesil = 9mil which is borini money.... if we'd sold carroll as well...

in the end it doesn't matter... roders was still let down by the team "upstairs" working "so hard" and he let himself down so we fans have to forgive him a learning experience as like it or no... benetiz made as many errors building his team up... we just have to see an error as an error and just expect its not repeated.

IE DO NOT REPEAT THE ERROR IN JANUARY!!!!!

Letting Carroll go anywhere was a mistake.

When a man takes on a job not knowing exactly what he'll need regarding tools. Why would you dispose of some of those tools before you look at what's required.

Letting Carroll go was essentially lessening our options up front. Management wise, it is an error all day all week all month all year.

Carroll might get a pen. A Carroll type would definitely been useful against Stoke as another option.

Sterling and Johnson bombing down the wings to deliver balls into the box, surely a Carroll should be in there to aim at, Not a Suarez and not a Gerrard arriving from outside the box full of defenders.

We have no presence in the area at set pieces intermittent Skrtel apart. That is one of the most annoying things about our game right now.

I agree with this. I have noticed this for a while. There seems to be a lack of players who can fight for the ball and then head it with power and accuracy. Skrtel and Gerrard are our best headers of the ball. I remember the likes Kuyt and Lucas who are absolutely atrocious at heading and Suarez is no better.

I remember the days when we had Hyypia and Torres ...
