Safe standing

Won't effect me but if people want it then it should be fitted.

There is still some way to go but at least we seem to be heading in the right direction over this. Backing for this from the clubs owners can only be a good thing. Well done to all who have championed this cause, keep up the good work.

 

Would it be the north satnd that went to terracing with the away fans moving?

Arsenal are interested in anything that may maximise revenue. It is not cheap to buy a trophy at that level.

 

I must say I haven't really been a big supporter of safe standing but since the recent revelations surrounding Hillsborough it will I believe allow the authorities to think again about all seater stadia and allow the politicians now to give their backing to this proposal.

 

Very true but they wont be able to charge stupid prices for standing areas

 

Whatever they choose to charge,they will sell it out. You do not have to reduce the price too much to sell people something they actually want.

 

I wonder if the authorities will put a limit on the area of the ground that can be terracing?

I'd make the NE corner safe standing but leave the away end as it is. Standing will definitely promote singing and we should be doing that in the home end but not the away end.

Or do what someone above said and make the North stand safe standing and give the away fans the NW corner or something.

 

Keep the away fans where they are and put the safe standing noth/northwest, taht way the away fans will be inbetween the singing

 

That's a better strategy than just putting it in the north west.

If you did introduce standing, then you would want to use it to improve the atmosphere. So you expand the areas which sing, not just change what is behind their backsides.

Credit it where it's due to the Official Supporters Club who have done work on this ( among others )

It will only be a section of the ground if it ever happens , I would prefer the north stand and moving away fans from behind the goal

 

For me it would have to be South Stand - North Stand is the best place for away fans IMO. I know we've just made South Stand an area for families but hey ho.

I am sure AP expected/hoped South Stand would have been our Kop End when we first moved to the KC.

 

Extend North Stand (as I believe can easily be done, just to fill space above concourse), make it standing. Get a full stand singing, as well as hopefully a block or two of the East.

Tuck away fans in North end of the West. If they bring a big following, split them between tiers.
