This was posted in another thread but I think it needs its own thread.

Alan Green on R5 said he has to win today or at the emirates or hes gone. info came from a top level exec, which to me has to be Rigg, Bhatia or Beard.

Apparently McLeish was there too. <grr>

Beard was the first name to come to mind when I heard it. I think Bhatia would be too discreet.

Someone got a sense of humour then? MH has to win at Arsenal or he's out and McLeish comes in? You couldn't make it up...oh, sorry, someone just has...<doh>

Bhatia will probably go before Hughes.

As for McLeish, that is relegation nailed.

Oh, I forgot to say. Most people at the top of football don't talk to Alan Green because they think that he is a tosser. I've heard that from several sources. They are more likely to "feed him a line" to see who can get him to say the most stupid thing on the radio.

Fair enough but this isnt that stupid, its perfectly reasonable.
Now if he said we were going to replace him with Guardiola......

If there is ANY truth in what Green said, the Board will have prepared a list of potential candidates. McLeish may throw his hat into the ring, but I trust TF and AB's judgement enough that they will pick McLeish's hat up and chuck it back at him

That makes perfect sense! As I said elsewhere who would choose Arsenal away as the must win game!

Sparky is beginning to pull it together...I can see it so can Tony, I am sure....he has to pull it round before Christmas. Not before Arsenal

    Hold the faith

That would be a huge backwards step. His Villa team were dire and hes a negative relegation specialist.

    Id rather keep Hughes.

It wasnt chosen, he said he had to get a win in the next 2 games, Everton and Arsenal. Why would you want a new manager to start at Arsenal away?

Reading at home is the perfect choice for a new manager to start, as is Saints at home.

    Arsenal V QPR
    QPR V Reading
    Stoke V QPR
    QPR V Southampton
    Man Utd V QPR
    Sunderland V QPR
    QPR V Aston Villa

Then a discussion about the future I think. I think he will have til then if we are picking up wins and maybe a couple of weeks after that. If we get nothing from first four games there will be nowhere to go. But I thought we played well today against a top side and if we can keep a consistent team should improve. Can we cope with the physical game of the Saints, Reading and Villa? I think we can -- URRRRRSSSSSS!

Id expect 10 points from those games, can we give Hughes those games or can we risk being 7-8 points off what we should have got?
We should batter Reading and Saints, Ill be disappointed if we dont get 3 or 4 against Saints who are conceding 4 goals a game away from home and have a hopeless defence.

Reading, Saints and Villa will very likely be in the final scrap so we really must take something from each of them or they will have an edge.

Maybe we could take Gorkss from Readng too!

Alan 'thinks about Alex Ferguson when he has sex with his wife' Green? I'll take it with a pinch of salt.

Slowly, too slowly for what we want, but slowly it is coming together. To get rid now is madness.

Totally agree with this. Very solid performance today. Would not be surprised if we got a battling draw next week.

Alan Green is a twat. However, it seems strange that he would state such a thing if it were untrue!
