Saw game on tv. Good team performance, right team (Cissé?) and to blame MH today is embarrassing like starting this kind of biased thread IMO. Will go to Emirates expecting first win against a tired team.
According to the BBC (yes, I know... FFS etc...) Hughes has allegedly had an ultimatum regarding today's game and the next. Failure to obtain a victory in either will result in his departure.
What a crap thread. Good performance against a confident and flying team. Enjoyed the bite to our play, tenacious attitude and desire. Things that have been lacking. Tried to pick an outstanding player for us and couldn't really come p with just one - good team performance. My only stand out was a poor performance from BZ in my opinion. Otherwise, great progress and real promise.
@tonyfernandes: Stop wasting your time and energy on negative tweets. QPR needs time and stability. We have great sqaud great ... http://t.co/7RRojG6W
I am no fan of MH as most of you know. I thought he was wrong from the start and still do. However he picked the right team today and we looked good. If I have a criticism it would be that I would have started with Cisse rather than BZ. Playing against 10 men is sometimes very difficult (we won a few games in our promotion season with 10 men). Everton are no pushover this season, so a draw is not too bad. U Rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrs!!!!
Sorry Oslo, this is not a good time to beat the 'Hughes Out' drum. For large portions of the game we were all over the team who are fourth in the PL. They did not get there by being crap and we made them look decidedly average today. Or to put it more positively we played damn well. I would have taken the point before the game but will admit to being a little disappointed we could not take advantage of a 20 minute spell with 10 opponents. I am expecting a point or a win at Arsenal if we can play that well and improve on that. Well done the lads and Mark Hughes. Well done the 12th man too. Storming support in 1st half, slightly quiet 1st 25 min second half and then loads of support at end too. A win would have been fantastic but the draw is much better in every way than a loss (obviously!).
We needed a tactical change on the formation, he just subbed players for players and a change of shape was needed. Hughes is apparently gone if we dont win at Arsenal. The scary thing is McLeish was there today. There was me thinking we couldnt get a more dislikeable manager than Hughes!
Seems like the not winning at Arsenal rumour may be true. However judging by what happened at Norwich we might just win!
Beating Arsenal on the rebound from their defeat at Norwich, Wenger's position would be shakier and I'm sorry, but as a punter, its a non runner for me.
I have no love for Hughes, but for christsake, please, please, please, don't lumber us with McLeish, financial suicide Tony.
Strikes me that TF's regular 'confidence' comments relating to Hughes are aimed at the Mittals rather than the likes of us. Hughes and the management gang, including agents, are more likely to be Frenandes initiatives all 'guaranteed' to succeed back then. The under achievement since must be having repercussions upstairs.
Quite possibly, either that or an (alleged) air hostess overdose has made him lose touch with reality.
Everton are a very good side. They battened down the hatches in the last 25 minutes and it was hard to penetrate them. Jagielka played a blinder for them as did Howard at tmes. Its hard to find an opening with 15 men in the area. Thought we very nearly pulled it off and I am sure others have noticed we are waking up. Need a few signings in January no doubt but we too a point from Chelsea and Everton and we are still improving. Reminded me of my son's Under 10s game today. Three games in and only drew after two earlier wins but actually you could see what three matches together was starting to create . A team! Need to keep that group together now....
Howard Coleman-Distin-Jagielka-Baines, with Heitinga off the bench That's a back five/six that wouldn't look out of place at just about any level when they are as well drilled as they are under Moyes. Lambast Hughes if you must when he gets it wrong but to do so when he gets it right is silly. Who was the alternative to Traore? Onuoha- everyone slags him off when he gets a chance. Hill- too slow to play left-back by his own admission. Dyer- dead. Who was the alternative to Nelsen? Onuoha- see above. Hill- maybe, but really a poor man's Nelsen. Ferdinand- woefully out of form. Traore-Nelsen-Mbia-Bosingwa has the makings of a good back four.
Oslo has lost a lot of credibilty starting this thread. Even the anti-Hughes crowd agree he generally got it right today. It takes a particularly jaundiced view to not acknowledge credit where it is due
Oslo is just displaying his frustration, there's no need to single him out. His posts are usually very good. This one has stimulated good debate to what we as fans expect and understand.
You do get the impression though that if we won 9-0 he'd blame Hughes for us not getting into double figures.
