    Tell a lie, I wouldn't have liked to have seen him getting knocked senseless by Trevor Berbick at the end.

    Excellent point on Hagler v Hearns, a true classic.
    For my club the 68 European cup final or some Busby Babes games pre crash would have been good to see.

    A classic league game from the 50s or 60s would have been great. One like the Arsenal v Man united game that ended up something silly like 7-5. I think that was the last Busby babes game wasn't it?

    Yeah, it was. Not sure of the exact score, you're right probably, but that was just before. Or some from the European campaign the year before that.

    Oct 31 1978 Munster 12 - 0 New Zealand

    It all started – in best rugby tradition – with a drinking session. Munster, mindful of the challenge ahead, went on a short tour of London one sweltering weekend in September and managed, in between the pints, to get thrashed 33-7 by lowly Middlesex and, still knackered from a bad boys training session organised by coach Tom Kiernan, scraped a 15-15 draw against London Irish. Hardly the stuff of legends but, with the All Blacks looming, the shared hangovers forged a formidable team spirit.

    All through the autumn Munster worked hard, training at the distant Fermoy Army barracks for no good reason that anybody can now recall. Players and officials had to park their cars on the touchline and using their headlights to illuminate the overgrown pitch. No floodlights in those days but the commitment and passion were building and Munster also flouted the existing International Rugby Board laws by training on the Saturday, Sunday and Monday before the game. They were taking this game 'awful' seriously.

    <ok>

    It has to be a sporting event so I'll go for San Antonio, Ibiza 1990 based on a kickabout we had in the middle of a road at 6am after leaving EsParadis :)

    My dad's from Fermoy! I was an 8 year old kid and he was watching the highlights on Sportsnight. All 4 of us kids were woken up by the roaring from downstairs and the old man was dancing round the living room saying "remeber this night for the rest of your lives" I will because I got a slap round the head from the teacher the next day for falling asleep at my desk.....

    That game has spawned a west end play and had numerous books wrote about it too.
