He's a city legend in the making, might even eclipse Gunny in time ?(forgetting the management bit)

He has ALWAYS been a hero in my eyes - right from when he first joined us from Everton. Hence my username!!!! <cheers>

He didn't have a great deal to do yesterday, but when called upon, he made it look easy.

When he won his England cap, he had to make a couple of very important saves, he made those look easy too!

When we first got him, I remember me and Carra_Rud fighting his corner, mainly against carrabuh, but others as well! I don't remember you at that time JR, but presumably you weren't JRFan then?

A wee bit early for the talk of legend but certainly our best performer this season.

I think there would have been a different outcome if he had been in goal for Sheff Wed on Friday night.

I have to confess i was part of the "he's good, but Fraser Forster would have been better" brigade until midway through last season. I'm finally starting to realise what an important part of our success he has been!

At the time I think JRFan originally posted on 12yds, as did I. If you go on there you'll find both of us were fighting JR's corner from the start against the "isn't a patch on Forster" brigade and the posters who kept claiming he was at fault for every goal we gave away at the start of the Championship season. No names, but I distinctly remember one of us, who posts periodically on here, saying he came near to having a heart attack whenever the ball went near Ruddy! Thing is, JR is not just a good keeper, he's a gem of a guy to have at the club. <cheers> Big John!

Yes, you're right Dave - I think I started as 'askwared' - it's a long story. As has been pointed out, I was on the original '606' and '12Yards' as 'JR Fan'!!!

Thanks Robbie and yes, I remember you on '21Yards' !!! <cheers>

It constantly pissed me off when people were comparing the two. I was behind Ruddy (metaphorically, and literally for 45 minutes of every home game) from the start.

We have had some great 'keepers at Norwich and Ruddy is one of the best.

Question dave. In the photo, is he giving the defence in front of him stick, celebrating a City goal, or banging his chest after making a terrific save? Talk about being hard to read his body language!(Even more reason for not tangling with him.) <ok>
