Seen again that he hasn't started for Burnley again last night, and I believe he has only started 1 game out of his 7 appearances.
Hardly setting the Championship alight again, do you think this will be the end of his Hull City career now?

Annoying how tempting £1million for him sounds now after last January!

Not really. Rejecting the bid for Stewart was about more than the money. We couldn't afford to have our manager go and then start picking off the 'best' players from the squad as it would have created uncertainty about our intentions for the rest of the players and potential signings in the summer. It's the same as when we rejected offers for Hunt in the January only to see him get injured. Selling him would have been seen as us giving up hope of staying up. With hindsight we'd have been better off financially selling both, but the decisions not to were correct because of the other factors, and what happens after doesn't change it.

Perhaps Pearson would have got the best out of him?

Barmby and Bruce didn't know how to.

In hindsight we should have cashed in....

Cam needs to hit the gym and build his strength up if he wants to play more often. He gets knocked off the ball way too easily!

"Shape up, produce the goods and don't let your form/focus dip, otherwise we'll ship you out to Leicester."

When you consider he actually ''wanted'' to go out on loan,i don't expect he'll be a very happy bunny right now. But he didn't look the type who can battle back, or fight, when things didn't go his way. He seemed more inclined to sulk like a toddler.

There were times when after a single tackle, two minuites after kick off,i could have landed olm's helicopter on his bottom lip  Also, agree with GCTiger about the gym. The lad is a talent, there's no doubt there. He just needs to man up,take on board the critisism he recieves from his coaches and work on his weaknesses.

There's a great life in the game for a player of his ability. Don't be a waster Cammy !

I'm sure word gets round about players at this level

"Niggle so-and-so he'll lose his rag"

"Double up on him and you stop all their attacks"

"Chase down that centre back, he's piss poor on the ball"

I'm sure with CS the word was "Crunch him in the first five and he won't want to know..."

Happened (again) against Rotherham in August

Need to be mentally stronger and physically braver at this level.

When he 1st came I couldn't believe the potential he had especially one game at home when he played up front (can't think who against?) .
But I honesty think we "the fans" have had a part to play in his demise.
He was 20/21 when he came back from the injury and was on fire at Derby then the Leicester bid came in and even though he stayed with us the majority turned on him.
You could hear and feel the groans every time he lost the ball and it shattered him and his confidence .
I'm sorry to say it but I think we failed a great young player.

I was losing faith in Cam until we faced Forest at home at the back of last season..then Andy Reid ran past him and outsprinted him..then all faith was gone...I mean Andy Reid for crying out loud. It was the same with Mclean. the game escapes me but the ball came into the area and he just stood there and it bounced off him, he didnt even react even after the ball had bounced harmless out for a goalkick. Then I realised we needed strenght in depth and not someone who "tries hard and never stops"

Remember early this season sb yelling at him to track back, instead of listening cs shrugged shoulders and didn't. That attitude did for him, our system needs players to graft.
Definitely needs to toughen up, look a sterling at Liverpool, similar build but manages.

That would be the game where he got the second most votes in the MOM vote.

Stewart is clearly a talented player, he needs to be most consistent and improve his final ball and he'll definitely have a good career at this level.

No, you need those players too, they are JUST as important. There hard work rubs off on the pitch, that was evident when McLean came on yesterday, everyone seemed to give that little bit more. I'd rather have 11 players with the work ethic of McLean in my team than 11 players like Robbie Brady - talented - but lazy as ****. You can't coach attitude or work ethic, you can coach tricks and shooting accuracy.

think mclean might of been off sick that day. I dont have a thing against him thou, I appreciate that he is commited to the cause and would run thro a brick wall for who he plays for but at this level its not enough. If he goes to the next shooting accuracy coaching session and improves enough then we really would have a great asset

If we'd sold him in January it was when he was in form, so it would hardly be signalling that to them.

Again, consider his form when he first returned from injury rather than what it descended into afterwards.

In all fairness, if I was Burnley boss I'd have Wallace on the left and Stanislas on the right ahead of Cam all day long.

Why? someone can not be judged by the minority of their performances and should be judged in the whole. on that basis he has been poor for an extended period of time and it is his good form that is all too rare. Also on another point mentioned elsewere, when he lost the ball and people moaned, it was because he could not be arsed to go and try and win it back. The more I go into this the more over rated I feel he became so I will stop now
