Just realised most people on here have you on ignore so it probably looks like FLT and I have been talking to ourselves!

You still are not saying how you would change playing tactics between now and the transfer window. Engaging with the fans is great but it doesn't stop goals or win points!

We all know we need to do something but WHAT!

I've not been on 'not606' a great deal since the demise of the BBC site, but I feel I have to post now.

There have been lots of questions on here around "what would you do now?".

My answer - Adkin's new style ('the 3rd way') is not working with the personnel he has recruited. The fluid front 5 are not providing enough cover in front of a weak back 4. He cannot change the personnel... therefore he has to change the system. Simples.

How does he change the system? Compromise his vision a bit and pick some tackling midfield players. Don't know if they're fit, but Chaplow and Cork would add a bit of resolve to a flimsy central area. Doing this would perhaps buy a bit of time and keep us in contact with the teams in 12th to 17th position until January when we can strengthen at the back.

To me it is obvious... but what do I know. However, if Adkins doesn't do something soon it will be too late. If he WON'T do something different, maybe we need a new face who will?

There is some talk of Redknapp returning to Southampton. His hairdryer treatment is legendary, there would be a few walking around with a blue rinse, pardon the pun.

And once again, I am in agreement on this, as I am on us not been defensively good enough. What I can't understand is why you go on and on about the same stuff week after week!

    Here are my balls:

I've said several times that I agree with some of your points. However you mostly just criticise about the same stuff without offering a solution. You become monotonous and boring. You expect and demand stuff that is not possible and you make assumptions on stuff you don't know the facts about (eg. Why certain deals fell through)

Your ability to communicate in an un-provocative manner is not good.

Shock - same old ground on signings. You don't know and you won't know. Accept that you have no divine right to know. It could be the £12m CB deal wasn't done because of some unknown hitch and he isn't saying as it will happen in January. If you recall, after the Ramirez announcement on deadline day the press were told to stay put as more was expected.... didn't happen though. Told you that weeks back but you won't listen because it doesn't fit your agenda.

Wow - I thought you didn't like "hairy, fairy, modern management techniques". Now it suits you because you want to know what is going on.

I am a chosen paying customer and do not expect the inner sanctions to be spilled puiblicly.

I'd also like to question why you would play an untried 16/17 year old in the Premier League without knowing if he is good enough? If this is acceptable then it must be acceptable for Nigel to have played defenders that previously had not had chance to prove their worth in the Premier League... this logic doesn't add up. We had played three games before the transfer deadline... City, Wigan and United. The Wigan game was the most disappointing, but not for the overall performance. Defensively we made one bad mistake against Wigan; United and City have torn most defences apart ... so at this point, the defence's ability to cope was really unknown. If you really had the ability to "know" before these defenders playing in this league (bearing in mind they finished 2nd in the previous division), then you are a genius. I also think you should have become a football manager with such wonderful insight and knowledge. If you are not professionally involved at the highest level of our game, why not?

I have stated several times (but by now I realise you don't ever listen/read) that if we get relegated this season, then so be it. My preference is that we stick with Nigel and stay up, even if by the skin of our teeth and in 17th place. Failing this, I would like us to stick by Nigel and continue building what we have started (maybe we have had earlier than expected success). Look at Bolton in the Big Sam days. Promoted, relegated, promoted stronger. West Brom did this too.

This management combination of Nigel Adkins and Nicola Cortese has taken us from 2nd bottom of League One, to the Premier League. I will give them some leeway when things get tough and go wrong. I am a supporter of them as a club and will be prepared to accept that there must be some downs with the ups (I just hope the downs are not relegation, but so what if they are).

Manchester United gave Sir Alex Ferguson time to adjust and time to do what he needed to do. That patience paid off. You need to show some patience and humility.

Do Whelan , Buck or Werner pick the team ? The two americans know nothing of football BUT they bring transparency and openess to the media and fans , befoere they had Bates and Gillet/Hicks , the old school of not telling the supporters/fans/customers whatever is dead , its one thing about the game I actually appluad and want to see more of , openess .

I don't know if they pick the team: I doubt it. I don't know (nor do you) if Cortese pickes the team.

It doesn't matter what you want or don't want. Some people people prefer the more quiet approach. I couldn't stand Lowe's approach; always being interviewed and being the public face of the club. Wenger doesn't come out every five minutes explaining why they haven't signed a particular player.

There were countless managers and owners that came out and said they wouldn't talk about a player or a deal as it wasn't the right thing to do in their opinion.

Let's just say for one minute they did and you were told that we just missed out on signing two really quality looking defenders for a particular genuine reason; all you would do is moan that Adkins can't attract the big players or that Cortese is supposed t be the big shot so should be able to get anyone. You just like misery.

Perfect example. Tell me why that one didn't go through?

I bet you post something along the lines that Cortese didn't cough up a few extra hundred grand.... it might be because Man United phoned this lad up and said "we want you, We are Man Utd and play in the champions league and are the biggest team in England; just stall and we will get you". This may not have happened... you don't know; I don't know. Even if Cortese hadn't just "paid up", you have to have some kind of principals in place whe running a business; if you end up rolling over and writing cheques, we will end up like the few down the road.

Not at all. We have 30,000 fans at games and what... 120,000 fans around the place? How can you appease all of those? You can't. For a start they could just talk to two of us, you and me. Immediately wee'd have a difference of opinion, so they couldn't win. They release whatever info they choose to release. That's fine. Should hey respond to every rumour? Should they tell us every player we tried toi sign? I don't think so.
