ALEJANDRO FAURLIN: QPR ARE FAR TOO GOOD TO GO DOWN
ABOVE: QPR star Alejandro Faurlin I feel we have let him down. Now I want to do my best for the team and him Alejandro Faurlin
21st October 2012 By Tony Stenson
ALEJANDRO FAURLIN knows all about pain – and now he is ready to end QPR boss Mark Hughes’ agony.

The tattooed Argentinian claims it’s pay-back time for his under-pressure manager.

Faurlin said: “I feel we have let him down. Now I want to do my best for the team and him.”

Rock-bottom Rangers meet rejuvenated Everton today still looking for their first win of the season.

Their dismal record threatens the *future of Hughes, with bookies *already claiming he is 11-10 on for the sack and Harry Redknapp favourite to take over.

Faurlin, 26, said: “We have players who have come in who have won things.

“It might be different for them at the moment, but we are professionals.”

Faurlin knows his relationship with the fans was stretched to the limit when it could have cost Rangers *promotion in 2011.

The FA launched a third-party ownership investigation into his complicated transfer from Instituto in 2009.

And a points deduction that would deny the club automatic *promotion to the Premier League was threatened.

That hung over the club for months and the Championship title winners knew their place in the top flight was secure only on the final day of the season when the FA decided to punish them with just an £875,000 fine.

Faurlin has now *recovered from the cruciate knee *injury he suffered in the 1-1 FA Cup draw at MK Dons in January, which turned out to be ex-manager Neil Warnock’s last game in charge.

Faurlin said: “Neil was like a father figure to me and it was *worrying when he left. In came a new manager I haven’t worked with and you don’t know if he trusts in you.

“I couldn’t show what I could do *because I was injured, and he bought midfielders like Samba Diakite and Stephane M’Bia.

“But he has been great with me and offered lots of support. When I started for the first time against Walsall (in the Capital One Cup in August) it surprised me I was selected so quickly.”

Faurlin’s injury kept him out for over seven months and he needed the words on his tattooed arm for *inspiration as he watched the relegation fight from the sidelines.

For there written in *Spanish is something the midfielder believes in – Tu eres el creador de tu realidad, which translates as ‘You are the creator of your reality’.

He added: “The mood is good. We just need that first win. We are disappointed and frustrated. We know the pressure is coming but we can handle it.

“It was hard to watch the team *struggle. I had over seven months out and it was difficult. And when you don’t get the results either, there is even more pressure.

“A lot of players have arrived. We have taken time to gel and, of course, no one likes these negative runs. But we have to be brave and try to get this win as soon as possible.

“We are disappointed and working really hard. We have let down the manager a little bit. But we have a strong group and we are working really hard.

“Mark is a really good manager and I think he will improve QPR a lot.

“The first win will have a massive impact. We know that. We need that. We want that.

“We have had some good performances and we have got nothing. We have had some difficult fixtures. We know that something is missing and we need to focus even more.

“It will be difficult for me coming back after the in jury, but I just want to do my best for the team and for the manager.”

I think the title of this thread is so wrong, we've all said it,thought it and MH said we will never be in this position ever again. Well we are and we've all heard the saying 'you're never too big to go down' well we're not big and we have every chance of going down if we continue in this bad form, luck what ever you want to call it.
Let's hope Sunday brings us 3 points and hope Arsenal don't take it out on us the week after. It's time the R's fans get a bit of relief PLEASE

    Agreed!

This "too good to go down" sh1te bugs me. We are last in the league - end of!

Now, on a positive, a win against Everton can be the 'end of' that sh1te!

Instead of talking about saying things like were too good to go down and Hughes talking about spirit being good its about time all the talking stopped and the team actually getting out onto the pitch and winning some games. Its November next week ffs and we havent won a game yet. The table doesnt lie.

We heard the 'Too good to go down' mantra about West Ham two years ago, it's results that count and we've not had any yet, Southampton and Reading are the key games, if we're still winless after them Hughes will be gone...

I understand where he's coming from, with the players we have at our disposal we shouldn't be in the position we currently find ourselves.

    But.....

There is no such thing as a team being too good to go down. You're only as good as your results!

I'm not 100% certain but even a thumping 3 nil win today wouldn't get us out of the bottom 3. Lose today and at arsenal next week and we will start to get cut adrift

Worrying times indeed. Go down and I think we'll lose Faurlin which would break my heart

With the points deduction threat, I think we all learned how full of crap the media is. In hindsight, we were never going to be deducted points but every newspaper and journalist said it was definitely going to happen and some even said we deserved it.

Agree, dangerous title. Sounds like Leeds who complain they are too BIG to stay down. And no one wants to be compared to Leeds ffs...

Can you see us thumping the toffees 4 nil?

No I think a point today would be a good return but it's all too little at this stage

No team is too good to go down. If we finish in the bottom three after 38 games, it means we are s*** and deserve it.
