I'm very fond of him personally. He isn't ****ing stupid. It's a bonus. We haven't done particularly well since he took over, but honestly, with the thread-bare squad and a really ****E strikeforce, I cannot blame him one single bit. We'll see his true abilities as a manager next season, when he's spent his cash and has a formidable team at his disposal.
Pardew speaks sense after most of our game, something that couldn't be said I we had Steve Kean, or Steve Bruce etc..
Saw a stat ages ago that showed he'd gotten as many points (or roundabouts) as Hoots in as many games - but with more injuries to deal with. Think he's done a good job under the circumstances. Comes across well in interviews, I like him to be honest. But yeah, we can make the final judgment in the transfer window and next season.
Probably slightly better manager than Hughton (though I think this is purely down to time n experience) but not as likable... He is yet to fully win me over!
I think we could do a bit better, but we could certainly do a lot worse. He says the right things, he has stood up to Ashle and Lambias, and has got us enough points to be safe, and with a less-than-average strike force, and a lot of injuries.
He was unlucky not to win the second tyne and wear derby with us, and he almost got us that win vs Spurs, but a defense mistake let us down. We haven't been taking enough chances upfront either. Pardew has done a good job, but he can do nothing about our extremely average strike force, and the injuries. He could take us up strongly to a top 10 finish next season, but needs time, money and trust. He's shown a better sense of tactics than Hughton, and he's less reluctant to play the kids and fringe players. Great manager in my opinion. Him and his scouts are targetting the right sort of players,
I have seen unfair criticism all over the internet about him. He nearly got us victories ove spurs and sunderland, he got the players rallied up to complete one of the best comebacks of all time against Arsenal, we thrashed West Ham and Wolves and we held the possible Champions and matched the possible Champions Man Utd. I like him and next season if improves our strikeforce and defence I feel he will do a good job.
I like him, he has come in and not rocked the boat. he hasn't been able to do anything player wise, so the summer and next season will be a test of him. I am happy at how we have done since he has come and actually look froward to see how hee can improve us in the coming season(s).
Getting rather fond of him, at the start I was unsure as he hasn't got an amazing CV. But he's carried on the job CH was doing and if we stay up this year I'd say he's been a success.
I'm starting to wonder if we really had got as far as we could with Hughton <erm> but still doenst justify his sacking. On Pardew, he says the right things, the only players he's actually signed are Ben Arfa and Ireland (which was a good deal on the face of it, and we only paid him 2 weeks wages). I like what I've seen so far but next season and this summer are the real tests.
This. Not overally won over by him.. just YET though. Need a full-season on his hands to see what he's made of(pre-season, how he sets up the team next year, transfers, outgoings, etc.).
