Kirkland attacked by Leeds fan

What an absolute disgrace this "fan" is to Leeds fc, he should be thrown straight into prison!. I watched the game last night and from the disgusting chants I heard, the Leeds fans must be the worst in the football league. They arent remotely bothered about the game, they just go there to cause trouble and act like morons. I know its not all Leeds fans who are like this but from how loud the chants were last night it must have been a high proportion of them.

IMO Children shouldnt be allowed into football matches anymore as young innocent kids shouldnt have to see scenes like that or hear chanting like that. I wouldnt dream of taking my kids anywhere near a football match!, and thats a very sad thing to have to say. What a Disgrace our country has become!!.

The only thing I would say is that ALL Leeds fans should not be tarred with the same brush. Yep, they have a reputation but so do Stoke and many other clubs.


I don't have Sky so the first I knew was ITV news at around 10 ish.. I know Dave Jones had his problems but really he should not be subject to any abuse now.
Like John Terry etc. It's in the past so to chant things is both stupid and not needed at a football ground.
I checked on the Leeds board last night and to a fan they ALL slated this idiot, even named and shamed him. I also thought Neil Warnock (I'm not his biggest fans by a long way) handled it OK afterwards.. But did he actually go to the Leeds fans and applaud them? That's what I read anyhow. Me? I would have wanted to bury my head ASAP. IF he did, he's a first class muppett.

Let's hope for a pt maybe today Ric? But I'm not counting on us getting anything... KTF eh!

I agree that kids should not be subjected to the scenes and language, but to stop them going is penalising the wrong people. The clubs need to do more to promote a more family friendly atmosphere by stating what is appropriate and what isn't and then heavily policing their own rules. That is the only way that I can see that can be used to remove the racists the thugs and the foul mouthed elements amongst us.

I dont want to tarr the same fans with the same brush either mate but I know what I saw and heard. It was atleast 2/3 of the following Leeds supporters. It was a joke and they have to be banned from away games for a few games atleast.

From the reactions I've seen from fellow Leeds fans I doubt he'd want to go back to Elland Road even if he was allowed!

If it was Stoke fans chanting the same things I would still say the same. There is no place for this in todays football especially when kids are going to watch games.

 

The chants aimed at Jones were in terrible taste but an unfortunate inevitability in football generally IMO, however I know people who were at the game and it was far fewer than the 2/3 or 1000 you were claiming, and were in response to equally distasteful Turkey chants from the Wednesday fans, chants that we are on the end of almost everywhere we go and simply have to deal with. In fact you must have incredible hearing to be able to tell how many supporters were joining in with a chant I couldn't even hear.

It's clear you simply hate my club so nothing I'll say will sway you, but if you seriously think nasty chants is solely a Leeds United problem you're really deluding yourself.

What could realistically have been avoided and was the real problem was the attack on Kirkland, however he's undoubtedly going to be very harshly punished having been turned in by the fanbase you so clearly despise.

I said this on the Leeds board last night.. " Well done to the Leeds fans who named and shamed this tosser" I stand by that. Good luck fella, seem's at times WE the Stoke fans are all treated as SCUM. Which of course MANY of us are not.. sadly, that's life and it's not going to change guys.

I know you're fanbase is often unfairly stereotyped as ours is, which is why I'm responding to ricc full's comments the way I am, it would be equally easy for me to say the same thing about your fans, as unfair and inaccurate as it would be.

It's an unfortunate side effect of a passionate set of supporters.
