disgraceful, dreadful, shameful, shambles, terrilbe, those are some words that describe today's performance. today's result and display simply proves that we're still not good enough to be title contenders, as I said a few weeks ago. the best we can hope for, is the same old story of fighting for 4th place, that's basically the highest we can aim for sadly, same sh!t.
I think you should not count ANY chickens. We only JUST scraped it last year , and that was with RVP firing on all cylinders . With our attacking capability this season i can see us really struggling.
And the story continues, if some people are content with the club's ambitions of 4th place then so be it. Years ago, we would've laughed at 4th place place being the height of our ambitions. Oh how times have changed... and I don't want to hear the old 'oil barons, arab money' rhetoric. We can only focus on ourselves and not other clubs. Same story, different season.
We're probably going to sign someone in January, that should sort out some issues. Giroud played pretty well today, he just had no service, he did well feeding on scraps. We have a good attack, we just didn't turn up today.
If Wenger hadn't poisoned a Lasagne we would already have had a season in the europa league, Tottenham and Everton both look stronger than us at the moment
If we put in gonad-less shifts like that one against the likes of newcastle , everton , west brom , etc , we are screwed .
I watched the match today with my friends who are all Barcelona fans. They were laughing and saying they have never seen such rubbish. I couldn't say anything because they were right.
I am sadly old...so I remember Barcelona of the early 80's .... bunch a cheating clogger thugs...they were like a team of vinny jones' with sun tans. Never seen such rubbish? I wish my memory could blank out the crud I've previously seen
Ive seen Bristol Rovers so ........................ after that , anything is bearable , even Torquay United
I have some sympathy with you fella, but rather than 4th being the 'height of our ambitions' it more a realistic appraisal of the situation as it looks at this stage in the season. We are definitely going to have to improve on today and we need to establish some consistency. Chelsea, City and Utd have already settled, we need to make sure we don't get left behind.
Our full backs were probably the only two guys who put a real effort and were very decent today. Isn't it because fullbacks are two positions with the real competition in our squad ?
Good point. With Walcott's injury, the likes of Gerv and Pod can rest easy. No matter what we think of him, before that injury, Walcott was doing well.
Jack's going to play with the reserves on Monday, so he won't feature against Schalke, but may be OK for QPR next week. Ox will miss Wednesday's game through injury, so Gnabry will likely be on the bench
Unless we are starting him through the middle, I do not want to see Gervinho against Schalke. Every time he has played on the wings this season, he has been utter ****.
