If this was Utd they would come out a different team in the second half. Lets see what Wenger can do..
God we were bad that half. I think someone like Arshavin could be useful for the 2nd half, maybe even take a risk with Jack.
First Half: Good start, goal was very against the run of play. Poor spell and then started to get better towards the end of the second half. Overall not great. Giroud has had a couple of headers on target and think he might get something but he hasn't had much service. Ramsey is doing what he regularly does when we go behind - he looks for the hollywood moment to save the day and change the game - he is much more level headed when we are winning. More to come from him in this game though. podolski and Gervinho need to get more involved otherwise for me we need to bring Arshavin on, put him on the same side as Santos and they will wreak havoc. Which brings me onto Santos who i think has been our best player. He can spot a pass to open a defence, he is very comfortable on the ball with fantastic close control. His strength is showing as well - very impressed with him and i laugh at those who think LB is our weakest position! Arteta and Jenkinson have been doing there jobs. We need to pass forwards more and push them onto the back foot, re-take control of the game and find a goal - i think once we have an equaliser we will put more away so we need to get an early second half goal.
Half Time Analysis Norwich are pressing hard. Some teams up their game in this way when it comes to playing us. Unless we can counter their pressing, every team we play from now on will do the same thing. The defense looks a bit nervy. Mannone may get the blame for the goal, but the ball swerved and bounced just in front of him. The players in front of him should have charged down the shot. The attack is woeful. I'm not talking about Giroud who looked quite dangerous. The link between midfield and Giroud is not working, we have to take drastic action to counter this. Recommendations Take off Podolski and Gervinho. Bring on Oxo and Wilshere. Move Cazorla into a more advanced role where he can be effective in linking up with Giroud. Too often in the 1st half Cazorla was on defensive duty. Wenger has to change at half time, or soon into the second half. ----Arteta---Ramsey--- Cazorla--Wilshere---Oxo ---------Giroud--------
Hate to bring it up again but that descision to not bring in cover for Diaby was pure madness. Every team from now on is just going to have 2 men on Cazorla for the whole game
Once Wilshere is back in proper action if Cazorla has 2 men on him then Wilshere will run straight through the middle of the pitch... I don't think we have a problem in our midfield at all.
