I haven't ready any stories PNP, i'm just going on what i've seen from him in the past. everyone knows what he's like, and he needs to be playing or he sulks.. badly. despite being injured for a while, now he's back he'll be expecting to walk into the side. - despite the fact that Defoe is scoring for fun. maybe that's a bit harsh though. he did only get about 17 mins. but it was the body language that stood out most for me.
havent read no story Pnp...but his passing was a bit 'cant be arsed' he was pissed off for running about? he only bloody played 20 minutes...i know enthusiasm when i see it.
14 points to 9, haven't won a trophy since the dinosaurs, lots of debt and owned by a bloke that you hate.
His body language looked fine, but like someone that hasn't played much football for a while, much like Huddlestone's did. Both of their passing was off and both looked a bit sluggish, but I couldn't fault the effort by either player. I take it nobody noticed his 50 yard run back to tackle out on our left-wing, either?
i agree he was good..i had a pop in the first half for his shoot on sight policy but he didnt half make himself get around on that pitch for us in the second. yes we lost but i am encouraged...we lost 2 powerhouse embele and Bale...with them we would have had them.....im looking forward to this season
i noticed that aswell PNP.......his demeanour made me feel uncomfortable...yes he did a few flicks and tracking back..maybe he was unhappy at being behind. Sig for me was our poorest player...Dempsey looked tired....but overall im encouraged and this will be a good season for us.
What is it with us and players either being injured or going missing, in this case? Kaboul, Parker, Assou-Ekotto, Dembele, Bale all out, Huddlestone, Livermore, Naughton and Adebayor just back. Perhaps our new training facilities will help? Good luck to Bale and his missus, by the way. please log in to view this image Apparently that's^ who the heart shape goal celebration is for.
agreed*. I really hope things pick up for him, he's not looked at all impressive so far. and we've all seen what he's capable of, many times. *EDIT: after Gallas obviously.
Gallas is all guts and glory Roo. i think that has a role in our squad ..however he ran out of legs in that second and once again if onky Kaboul was available or BAE for Vert to get in the centre. my point is..we are looking good with our strongest team and i dont think we are that far behind the teams that have money to throw away.
Gallas was bloody terrible today. Strange that, with the reputation he had at Chelsea for his treatment of the old guard, AVB is sticking so doggedly to Friedel and Gallas. And how I wish Walker had some goddamn competition. He needs a kick up the arse. Lennon looked clearly our biggest threat. And that, not wanting to be harsh, says something. I said on another thread how good our team from this fixture looked last year: names like King, VDV, Modric, Parker, Bale, Adebayor. I'm not at all convinced that we strengthened, personnel-wise, this summer. Plus a bit of bad luck with injuries. I just hope this result shakes things up a bit. Starting with seeing where that competition for places at the back is.
No Kaboul, No Bale, No Dembele, No Parker and No BAE... that's 4 key players from last season and Modric's replacement... Gallas is at the end of his career...today clearly showed that but why are people so down on Adebayor? He ain't started a prem game since May due to injury. We dug in during a tough first half and were very good in the second half...Walker and Gallas gave 3 goals away but it happens...Chelsea are outstanding...the 3 behind torres are unbelievably good...if they get that striker in Jan they will roll over anyone
Naughton or England U21 right-back for the two clean sheets against Serbia, Adam Smith? They might both get a chance at full-back in the next game.
