So Yoshida playing LB this time then. We are looking so light weight at the moment, Reeves, Seaborne and Chaplow on the bench doesn't exactly shout premier league game changers. Is Fox injured or just out of favour? Assuming JRod is being given a go up front with Guly on the left?

Cretins saying Adkins is clueless for playing Yoshida at LB - not really a questionable call by him seeing as it seems like it was pretty much his only option?

How do you all know he's playing at left-back? Seems to me he's more likely to play on the right again with Clyne on the left.

Hooiveld is a logical choice against Carroll, the rest of the line-up doesn't fill me with confidence though. Hopefully Rodriguez up front and Guly behind but I suspect it'll be Guly up front and Rodriguez wide again.

I'm thinking it will be Yoshida at RB, Clyne at LB

    Maybe Lallana left, Guly central?

Surely Fox can't be out of favour to the extent that:

    A) he's not even on a very weak looking bench, and

    B) we're once again playing a CB out of position, at FB.

As for up front, well if Man City is anything to by, it'll be Guly through the middle and Jay out-wide. Hope not though. I don't like Jay out there.

Put Jay in Lambert's position, and then either Guly in Ramirez's position, or Lallana in Ramirez's and Guly in Lallana's.

Glad to see Boruc starting, he sounds like a class keeper. I can see why Adkins left Lambert on the bench, in the home fixture (didn't see the away fixture), Allardyce doubled up on Lambert through out the game an was ineffective, he'd be best to come on as an impact sub. Rodriguez is in his best position so should put in a good shift.

True! In which case we are having a nightmare with injuries at FB positions. I wonder why Stephens isn't being considered at RB after being called up to the first team squad. Would he be any worse than a CB playing RB if Clyne is being played LB. Meanwhile also weakening our CB's. If we can get a point today then that will be a great result.

Risky line-up for Nige but got to trust he knows what he's doing otherwise we might as well give up now!

The Yoshida inclusion at full-back is enforced, the picking of Boruc is slightly confusing but probably not a bad thing, but not picking Lambert is a poor move for me. The most physical game of the season and we could really do with him, he's probably the best player in the team at defending set-pieces let alone his attacking ability. Guly is tough to knock over but doesn't really get up that well, and JRod is of a decent height but not particularly strong in the air. Then Lallana, Puncheon, Davis and Clyne can offering nothing defensively in the air so it rests entirely upon Jos, Jose and Maya to shoulder the West Ham aerial threat. Worrying but they're not mugs in the air so hopefully they can do the job.

Regardless, I think this is definitely an away game set-up, we're going out there to stay in the game for 60 minutes, then Lambert and Mayuka on to grab us a couple at the end. Hopefully it pans out, I think we're definitely going to need to get a good foothold of the ball to be able to succeed though.

Cant believe people are still too far up Nigels arse to see the mistakes he is making. We are going to get battered with that team today.

For me the defensive side of things actually may not be perfect but at least it has steel! As for no lambert, well I am fuming! We do not function properly without him do we never learn! Think Adkins is trying to get sacked, is he crazy?

If they're such obvious mistakes to you, then why are you not the manager instead of him?

I'm actually really pissed off Adkins is manager of this team. Clearly every single one of our fans would be better than him, the bunch of geniuses they are.

Adkins out, angry forum/twitter/facebook users in!

The typical daft unrealistic response from you, you will all see come 5pm what a terrible mistake Nigel has made, as he did against Manchester united , Manchester city and Fulham. Stop seeing him as some sort of god, he has done great the past two years, but this season is showing he is not cut out for it.
