Exactly - I am not saying extra police would have prevented it, they might have done but my point being exactly the same, the police should have never allowed this guy to leave the pitch not alone the ground.
And where were the Leeds fans that care for the club ? Why didn't they arrest him ? That would have gone a long way towards salvaging something for the clubs image.
Can you imagine a big Leeds fan getting hold of this idiot in the crowd, he fights back, the big lad give him a right hook, what will happen to him in this day and age, he'd be locked up and the idiot would get compensation. most people go to watch football, not police it, there is already people there getting well piad for it
Your painting your own picture of events though. How's about mine ? Five of you pick him up and toss him to the stewards or police. Simples.
Your pictures fine, but you didn't answer my question, btw, if i had been there, and the twat had ran back into the crowd near me i would have smacked him in the mouth in the spur of the moment, like someone said on another thread, he wasn't alone, ****s like him go around in gangs thats why he thinks he's a big hard man.
And if a couple of decent fans tried to get hold of him his twatty little gang would have kicked off and it would look like all hell had broken lose. I was brought up in a bit of a rough area, kids were always fighting however I know plenty of people that haven't ever raised a hand in anger not alone been involved in any kind of fight. Yes in an ideal situation I would have liked for a few big burly fans to have grabbed him out but on the other hand he did run into a group who were obviously with him, pretty intimidating. As YWNBK pointed out, most fans were celebrating the goal and probably never saw what happened.
seems most of you lads, while not condoning the morons efforts, seem to be satisfied blaming everyone else bar your own, shame on leeds utd fans , 5000 v 20 you should have kicked the crap out of the moron
In fairness I would imagine that 4,980 were busy celebrating the goal and had no idea what happened. I don't blame myself or MOST Leeds fans, just the 20 or so that have shamed the club. I also blame the police for ALLOWING him to walk back into the stand and for allowing him to leave the ground. Maybe they have their reasons for that wishing to build a stronger case with witness statements and player statements. Yes we have TV footage but this crazy law system we live in is a joke. A true story - We own a bricks and mortar business, we had a break in caught on CCTV - The police watched the footage, they knew the person, they arrested him and found stolen items on his possession. It went to court he said he found the said stolen items in the street. He was found not guilty as they couldn't prove he was on the premises and it was claimed that the CCTV footage could have been someone who looked like him, that is the **** justice system we live in.
If the police and stewards who are paid to grab him wont, why should anyone else risk arrest to do so.Was at Leeds last season i think against Doncaster when we scored a winner right near the end.A few jumped on the pitch surround area on the kop,as they came back a man walked down the steps and smacked the last one back in the mouth,he then had to run as stewards tried to grab him but ignored the ones who had been on the pitch.
Totally agree with the OP. If the Police had done their job properly and arrested ALL the Leeds fans before the game, this would NEVER have happened. If they'd done that the last time he invaded the pitch, Aaron Cawley would never have had a banning order to disobey and wouldn't be facing prison. Anyone who suggests it's his responsibility to behave himself is an idiot. It's an outrage. He should sue.
OK there is an obvious knee jerk reaction to blame Leeds for this thugs behaviour, but wait a minute, the lad already has a banning order - This wasn't at Elland road, Leeds did not admit him to the ground Sheffield Wednesday did - There are police spotters around the stadium before the ground - OK he obviously made their job harder by not showing himself to them, but the police and SWFC admitted the twat into the ground Can anyone tell me exactly what LUFC as a club have done wrong here? - They didn't let him into the ground - It wasn't their stewards - I seem to recall the world recoiled in horror when under apartheid South Africa started convicting people by association
Unfortunately all leeds fans will be tarnished with the same brush, i was at the Hull v Ipswich game yesterday and the first chant that went up from both sets of fans was "we all hate leeds scum", now as a hull fan i am used to this chant at the K.C but normally shouted when there is a lull in the action and very rarely do the opposition fans join in with such vigour as they did yesterday and never is it chanted as the teams kick off, so even though i am sure you guys are used to hearing it, i would expect it to be chanted in future with more venom, all because of one pathetic cowardly streak of piss.
Thank you, this idiot has been caught twice before, thrown in front of a judge who issues a punishment that obviously doesn't hit home. Imagine the uproar if a murderer or *****phile was released with a community order charge and they committed the crime again. Who's fault would it be? As a Leeds supporter I am sickened that we have idiots like this following us, I hope they really throw the book at him AND whoever is responsible for obtaining his ticket. Apart from locking him up I don't know what the answer is, I heard tickets were not checked against the fans name on them, I don't really blame Sheff W for that as it can't be an easy task when you have 5,000 trying to get into the ground. However a few spot checks singling out groups of lads? Surely you can spot a group of half a dozen lads as being more likely to cause grief over a guy going in with his son? I wouldn't be offended being stopped and checked if it meant getting rid of the **** element.
Sheff wed have never been good at checking tickets etc, i remember when Hull went there a few seasons ago on a Tuesday night, we arrived 15 mins before half time with queues still at turnstiles, all we did was pay the guy on duty a tenner and he let us in, i seem to remember we ended up with close on 7000 fans that night in the ground and stewarding was none existent
