Why anyone is getting hot under the collar about how much Kirkland was hurt by the incident is beyond me. It is not about the severity, it's about the fact it happened and what was going on around it, and the rest of the context. I will pick Beagrie up on one point. He was talking about how this never used to happen after the match and he just doesn't know where football is going. Now that was wrong. The 70s and 80s were way off the radar in comparison. If he was unaware of that, he has led a very sheltered upbringing.
