I've taken about a month or two off from work and I haven't really had any time for internet access meaning I haven't posted in a while. Reasons being, I was visiting my old man who lives in Leicester (and yes, he is a Leicester fan - A 40 year long Season ticket holder!) but he was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and members of the family have been visiting him to give him support. I looked after his pets, kept my mum company and have visited him every day with him the last few weeks. He has been a regular reader of Not606 for a long time, he never registered but he did convince me to sign up. When he is discharged from Hospital in a couple of weeks time, I was hoping both the Hull and Leicester boards could make a thread in appreciation for him. It would mean the World to him. Edit: This is a horrible disease that has affected a lot of people, and it's something that nobody should have to endure. It would also be a thread to show support for those also going through it, because it can really be an incredibly difficult time for all family and friends.
The same illness took my father.. who I nursed for 4 months.. Its tough... lets all hope he is one of the lucky ones. Anybody who has been a season ticket holder at LCFC for forty years deserves a fookin medal...plenty of shight must have past his eyes.. wish him all the best from the not 606 lads and lasses
Despite him being a Leicester fan, he has my heart felt sympathies and I wish him a full and speedy recovery. If you're reading this dad, you brought you're son up well.
My Uncle has colon cancer - it's horrible to see him deteriorate like he is doing. He's hanging on in there - hopefully for many more years. My dad is worried because he's the third oldest of four brothers, the eldest has already died in his early sixties, now the second oldest is ill at the same age. My dad is in his late fifties. Cancer is a disease that will affect us all at some point. The sooner it's consigned to history, the better. I hope your dad stays strong and beats it. It certainly can be done.
Wish him well. Was thinking - 40 years, bloody hell. Then realised I have been watching em about the same length of time. Get him to sign up on not 606 and share some of his memories - would be an interesting read for some of us more mature gents. Speedy recovery
Good luck to you both! Hang in there and be brave for your Dad! A proper fan of 40 years, hes a credit to our great club....
It's a cruel, cruel disease which, unfortunately most of us have experience of. Best wishes to you, your Dad & family, hope he makes a full & speedy recovery.
Horrible to hear about your father, Super Tiger, and wish him the best of luck. Wouldn't wish cancer on anyone, and its destruction is something that fans on every board of this forum can agree on.
There you go Super Tiger, Leicester go top of the championship hope this news will cheer him up,and a full & speedy recovery to him..
