Don't want to start a big argument Jock, but the TA that followed Rangers to Manchester a few years ago weren't exactly angels, don't get me wrong, i enjoyed seeing them give the filth a good kicking, but to say they've got it nipped in the bud is a bit of an exaggeration

that is not the TA, that is ignorant, bigoted Rangers fans, many of whom come from Northern Ireland. Also, when the police in Manchester and Glasgow audited what happened, they discovered a large amount of Rangers 'fans' from London, they had traveled up with Chelsea fans.

Where did you read that bit? I read that 7 of the charges were dropped due to 2 alleged victims turning up. 4 were then formally recorded as 'not guilty' because another alleged victim didn't appear, and the remaining 10 were not deemed to be 'just' cases for retrial by the judge. He was not actually found not guilty of any of the charges by a jury hearing & rejecting the evidence, so a certain stigma will always remain. Had I been him & been absolutely convinced of my innocence, I would have campaigned to have the charges addressed in a court of law so I could be seen to be innocent by one & all. He chose not to do this, hence the stigma that follows him around. And let's be honest - it always will!

Boab's right on this one. Different breed altogether. Many rangers fans are more likely to support england than Scotland, btw. And many Celtic fans would prefer to support Eire. Strange, but true. The TA is actually a fantastic experience. I would recommend going up to Hampden for a Scotland match to anyone. It's not just the language that's colourful! It's a carnival. And don't worry about being english. It's pitied rather than being frowned on. <whistle> Seriously though, it's a fantastic experience. Gimme a shout if you fancy it & need your hand held. ****e football, but everything else is brill.

There's no football to enjoy, just the banter from the supporters.

What a shocking thing to say. And blatantly untrue.

The case went to court and the jury were instructed to provide a not guilty verdict on the basis that thevwhole ****ing thing was unsound.

That is a true court case with a true result, as happens up and down the land every day

You are peddling filth about a guy and basically defending groups of fans all singing libellous ****e at someone who has had to put up with it for 12 years. Shame on you.
If you really want to add value, go get the proof to nail him. Or anyone of anything, cos I am sure there are skeletons in all closets, including Dave jones.

I sincerely hope for your sakes that you are never in a position of trust where taking tough decisions, like teachers or social workers, leads to some disliking you so much that they start to spread filthy untrue Rumours, that follow you around to your dying breath.

If this is aimed at me, Sheldon, then I must refute your allegation that I'm peddling filth. I simply commented on what I read in the wiki extract published on this thread, and clearly I read it differently to you. Since you know so much about this, perhaps you could tell us the sentences suffered by the 'false accusers'?

Overall the TA behaved superbly in Cardiff last week. It was like they were the home support until Bale got the winner. One Jock even asked to shake my hand as I left the stadium while criticising their team in a phone conversation. I was happy to do so.

As for SOME elements of Leeds support tonight - disgusting as far as DJ is concerned and the muppet who assaulted Kirkland should be put away for a very long time or suffer an even worse sentence. It is unfortunate that many good Leeds fans will be tarred with the same brush but until idiots like this are erradicated from the game such situations will continue to happen.

It could have been me that shook your hand, Blue, but tbh, I can't remember much about the trip! I have to say that we were very warmly welcomed in Cardiff, and no pubs were out of bounds. Both nationalities mixed really well, with lots of excellent banter. Well, so I'm told. Had a wee drop too much of the demon drink. It was magic!

Hope you guys enjoy your defeat as much when you come up to Glasgow! <whistle>

Whitejock - what will be will be. Managerial changes likely on both sides before the next round.

Don't think there will be as many Taffs in Glasgow as Jocks in Cardiff though.

In fairness I though you were the better side first half but weren't effective in/around the penalty area.

All nine of them, I wonder what he did that was so bad that 9 kids tried to ruin him in that way. Seriously, not a WU - for one kid to do such a nasty thing is bad enough but 9 of them to attempt it, he must have been pretty well disliked, he might be innocent (he might not be) but he surely did something that turned those kids against him. He did show last night that he has a temper and a nasty side to him with the hatred in his face and words for ALL Leeds fans.

I see that all you are attempting to do is deflect what happened last night to focus on somethign else and shift blame and try to castigate someone completely without any basis. Terrible.

Grow up, of course I am not, you are such a tit most of the time.

Mrs I am always right, Mrs split personality, one minute looking for a fight the next trying to 'debate' always taking the high moral ground. I am starting to believe it is a husband and wife posting under the same username, either way I am starting to believe you have a personality disorder.

So sure your right sheldon ?.Read some links about dave jones on here and they are inconclusive tbh.Can you answer me a few questions as you seem to be an expert on him.
1-How many private prosecutions has he taken out for slander.
2-How many who made complaints have been charged for perjury.
3-1 Month ago would you have defended jimmy savile.
    4-Was O J Simpson innocent.
5-Would you let him baby sit your little girl if you have 1.
6-Did he give Leeds fans benefit of doubt like he wants people to give him.
Fools jump in,others weigh up the facts.Like I said what I've seen so far is inconclusive.

You must be older than me, they haven't played each other that often for many years, so making 3 games is impressive. Never been to a Scotland v England game, so can't give an opinion on how the T.A. behave at them, however being drunk and singing is not the same as trying to fight with everybody and shouting racist and abusive language about everyone who isn't white with blue eyes, as I have heard at some England games.
