just been on the BBC website and yet again i see yet another story about this tired played out nonsense abot Terry and Anton will they ever give it a rest and just accept the punishment and accept his apology and be done with it but now it seems that they want to pressure Chelsea into dumping him as captain to. im really starting to believe this is all a ploy to draw attention away from our great start to the season. i seem to remember them doing the same thing back 2010 when we were playing well to didnt work that time tho as we won the double that year scoring the most goals ever in a PL season. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/20005819
The club can put a stop to all this by confirming what JT's punishment is, which is what we should have done in the first place. All this secrecy does is ensure it drags on yet again - I honestly cannot believe that the club can't see that. The speculation will mount over the 4 games JT misses and then his comeback becomes a huge issue as to whether he's the captain or not (or if he's sub, will he take the armband when he comes on and if he doesn't, does that mean he's not captain?). It's bloody ridiculous, but - as has been the case all through this boring, grubby affair - we don't help ourselves as a club.
No, Chelsea don't, and shouldn't have to, need to do anything. Disciplinary matters should remain in-house, it's not for Chelsea to put Terry up as a sacrificial lamb just to appease the media.
I totally agree with this (about ploy) and I watched the pre match report at lunchtime hoping to get lots of info on tomorrow's game but no, it was all the same old questions about JT, they tried to get it back on track but the media wouldn't have it, how RDM kept his cool I don't know as I wouldn't have.
I'm sorry mate, but not stating whether or not we've stripped him of the captaincy is ridiculous. How exactly do we intend to keep this a secret when he next plays? Will we just not name a captain? If we've made a decision to change the club captain, then we should announce it. If we haven't, say so and move on. How i all this childish crap helping the club?
We should fine him and be done with it, gotta think about the good of the club and he still wasn't guilty in a court of law. The lad has been with us since he was a boy, he's the best defender we have and plays with his heart, he should keep the captaincy imo.
I'm getting bored witless by this stuff and I dont doubt the general public are too! I suppose it will go on until the next high profile player gets caught with his trousers down!
