Evening all. That was a busy day. Work was non-stop and then I only just made it to training on time. However the good news is that I finally answered a quiz question which has bugged be for 3 weeks.

Morning all, very mild but overcast here this morning.

I came across these figures for the cost of games in the Championship. Tables are there to view for the other leagues.

There does seem to be a general dropping off in attendances around the country, suspect that the costs are something to do with it. Just how much room there is for a price rise next season is difficult to tell.

Prices have certainly come a long way since I started watching - used to cost 1/3d to get in and 6d for a programme. :(

Looking at some of those match day prices, especially in the EPL, you have to wonder for how long they will be sustainable. They make a mockery of David Cameron's 'we're all in this together' statement.

1/3d when I first went too, I think (West Brom, 1955). After a few years there came a point where we still stood in the kids' queue...perhaps 14 and under then...in the hope we wouldn't get yanked out and told to go and pay the adult price.

p.s. anything Cameron is in, I'd rather not be in it with him!

You needn't worry theo - it's probably a safe bet that he didn't include himself or his cronies in that. Proof of that will come next year when the mooted 40% pay rise for MP's comes into being. :(

I suppose the only way most public organisations could carry a 40% pay rise at present is by losing 40% of their staff...that's 252 MPs by my reckoning.

What a bunch of cynics on here. If you really want to have a go at a politician, see what they are doing out here to Holland.

Mind you the man is a total idiot. He would get along quite well I suspect with Baz.

No vic, they are between governments as usual. They think that he will potter down to Amsterdam and stick his finger in a dike. Very careful on the spelling there. ;)

    Morning all

Horribly wet and grey here. Just received a quarterly gas/electricity bill on the same day the government promises to simplify the same. It's long overdue. I have a degree, a master's degree with distinction, a postgraduate diploma of education...and I can't make any of the numbers on it add up to the final balance. :steam:

Yes - but if your degree was in domestic science, your masters in coconut shying, and your education diploma in leaf recognition then you may well not be numerate :)

Well, Leo, it's true my Pythagorean triples and my Diophantine equations may need a bit of brushing up...but I was always considered sharper than most at sums and, as if to prove it, I think I've finally cracked the gas bill. It would have taken Fermat an hour or two <laugh>

Afternoon all, very damp outside, quite cheerless in fact.:(

Just back from my third lot of physio this week and it seems that I have been good and I am making progress faster than she thought I might.;) Had a session on the bike for the first time today without taking any blood enhancing agents before hand. Sure she set it on the uphill calibration, as by the time I finished I was starting to puff a bit. Then what seemed like a simple bit of rocking on a board, but it really got to the calf muscles. Next week I am down to two sessions with her, and on Tuesday I am allowed to drive the car again, which will do my blood pressure the world of good.

I see that the supporters trust at Pompey are in the driving seat to take on the ownership of the club. I think that it will be very difficult for them in the longer term. To actually buy the club hundreds of fans who pledged to buy a £1000 share have now got to find the money, but it will become difficult when the club need some investment for the team or ground improvements. I wish them well as it would be good to see fans having a say in just how their club is run.

A good night for Châteauroux with a 3-1 win over GFC Ajaccio.

Strangely Watford's results have been similar when they play on the next day, so hope the run continues. ;)

    I'll drink to that <ale>

Another bad day in government for Cameron's Crew I see - 27 MP's caught fiddling expenses (legally, they claim!!) and George Osborne caught travelling in a first class compartment with a standard class ticket - then refusing to budge or pay the upgrade. Apparently couldn't sit with the general public. I hope he follows Andrew Mitchell's lead and does the right thing by resigning.

    Plus ca change. :(
