Yes Quentin. Time for your twee celebration of all things Scotchie in your squalid aids infested fleapit. Still you'll be dead soon with that mysterious illness. One last bumming afore ye go. Raise the kilt here comes Tarquin.
I'm all for having a grown up discussion on the matter but comments like this not only make you look like an immature spunkbucket, but are also full of ghaping holes. The UK will forever be ruled by Eton toffs? Well, the last 2 PM's (which got us into this mess) were Scottish and Edinburgh educted (hardly an endorsement of the "toffs" which will rule a free Scotia), the one before that left school with no qualifications (allegedly). In fact, the last PM to be Eton educted was Harold McMillan from the 60's. Which political party supports "cutting taxes for the rich while hammering the poor"? Whether you like it or not, the rich create wealth and jobs. If you continue to hammer them then they'll take their cash elsewhere, like what's happening in Hollande's France. Scotland should go down the route of small government and state, like what was pioneered through the Empire in Hong Kong by Scotsman, John James Cowperthwaite, who's widely credited with turning the small enclave into a thriving Capitalist financial centre. Low taxes as a reward for working, and force the idle out of their beds and into employment etc. Instead we're still talking about a modern UK, where there are literally hundreds of thousands of people who don't work because the state pays them better not to work! There was a report the other week that said that more than half of Britain's families take more out of the state in benefits than what they pay in, it's unsustainable and only adds to the already HUGE deficit. I had a discussion with my own mother last night, she's recently turned 60 and she gets a free bus into WORK, that's right, she works but the state provides her with a free bus? Why? Then she says that a women in her work is over 63 and as such pays no NI contributions?!?! The UK's system is a shambles. Anyhow...... What also worries me is the SNP's no Trident policy, BUT they want to now join NATO!!! The more they reveal, the more it comes across as if Salmond wants to have his cake and eat it..... "NO NUCLEAR BUT PROTECT US PLEASE". I don't necessarily agree with the deterrent as I look at Norway, a country of similar resources to Scotland but with a much higher GDP and Income Per Capita, but we can't go from housing most if not all of the UK's nuclear arsenal at present, then tell England that we don't want them any more, THEN say "but if Russia attacks us, can you give us handers?" Now you hear more and more from the ministers on the sidelines of the SNP campaign and they're coming across as pathetic, chip on soldier, anti-English ****s who blame England for everything, blame the rich for the underclass in society, and everything is everybody else's fault apart from their own. My only hope is an Independent Scotland immediately holds an election, the SNP disband and join labour or the lib dems, then Scotland's right join forces under a new Tory party and gets elected. But what wil probably happen is we'll lurch from one economical debacle to the next before we gain a clear perspective of how life works and not this fanciful vision of socialist bullshit that NEVER EVER WORKS!! You can't spend more than you earn!!! Discuss...
Cameron was eton educated I also think you are being a wee bit unfair on Gordon Brown. He took over as PM when the world and not just the uk was in turmoil. Also with regards to the mess that the labour party got us into, the tories shadow budget promised every year to match the spending of the labour government, whether tory or labour gov the uk would still be ina mess today. In your opinion did the cuts made by the tories make the situation in the uk better or worse? Can you back up the claim that low taxes encourage growth? I here this argument all the time and I do not believe it to be true. Can you also back up the claim that people do not work as they are better off on benefits? I know that the Daily mail likes to tell us this is the case but I do not believe it for a minute.
Dinnae tell him that by "Eton toffs" I was referring to the Government as a whole and its advisors, special consultants etc., not just PMs, or he might have another meltdown.
1. Aye, apart from Cameron... Everycunt know Cameron is Eton educated, it's brought up on a daily basis by Labour. 2. Tony Blair and Gordon Brown oversaw the UK going through a record period of growth, a level of growth not seen since Victorian Britain and the Industrial revolution, but still racked up huge debts and deficits, all PRE-Bank Crisis I hasten to add. Obviously the Bank crisis saddled the UK with even more debt. Also, all the PPP building that Labour sanctioned and the tax-payer will be paying off for the next 50 years are not classed as part of the UK debt. Britain is the most indebted nation in the world. 3. Tory cuts. I think that using the Government responsible for the cuts is misleading. It's widely acknowledged that whoever got in last time HAD to cut spending because it had got out of hand. Benefit payments shot-up under labour. Did it make the UK better or worse? Well like most things, it takes a while for these things to filter through, what can't be denied though is that the cuts allowed the UK to keep it's AAA Credit rating which meant that we could borrow at record low levels of interest. 4. It's basic economics. Use the low tax rule at a personal level. If YOU don't pay as much tax, does it make you richer or poorer? If you are richer, do you spend more or less? The SE Asian economies use the low taxation rules and no one could say that these countries are not growing and outstripping the UK and West when it comes to economic output. 5. The BBC's John Humphries done a documentary in his native Cardiff last year where a whole street were on benefits. The residents, quite rightly IMO, didn't work. If they did, they'd lose certain benefits which meant that they would be worse off, or "no better off". I don't read the Daily Mail so can't comment on that paper. But it's widely accepted, even by the left, that there is a huge problem in the UK with benefit cheats.
Reasons to vote yes to independence. # 2. The new found freedom will allow Womens tits to grow bigger
Ghaypist ghaped again. "if we continue as part of GB we'll forever be ruled by a bunch of Eton toffs" What a pile of ****e. So now you're saying that the elected government is just a front for an elitist Eton Style secret council which rules the UK in the shadows. "Should we allow the poor to eat this week, Ceecil?" "No, I've ran out of £100 notes to light my cigars with, Rupert"
Nah, you're right EDGE. I'm sure the next PM will wear a flatcap and keep whippets. You can barely look at the Tory front bench without seeing simmets and tackety boots. Gideon never goes a day without his bottle of Newcy brown and a tub of whelks.
You said that "if we continue as part of GB we'll forever be ruled by a bunch of Eton toffs" Which is wrong, isn't it. The labour governemt had a few toffs too but had a few "working class" guy too. The Tory front bench may have a few toffs, if they're the best at doing the job, so be it. I won't judge them on their backround but on the job that they do.
I know. That's why I'm campaigning for independence so I can get into Government and **** all you plebs. That's if I live that long.
ST's stawner for sturgeon. The worst politician of all time and ST wants her as Vice President of Scotland. Couldn't make it up.
