Respect to Dirk. True Pro. Also agree with Kenny bringing in new players when he had one in Dirk who was ready to make the next step but trying to get Carroll up and running ended up costing Kuyt a bit. It worked so well with Dirk, maxi, Suarez, Meireles, Gerrard. not sure why we went away from that?

I will always have a lot of respect for Kuyt.

Dalglish made a big mistake by not playing him and Maxi more last season. But whats done is done.

I'm not sure how much Kuyt would play in this new team. Maybe RW, maybe the bench.

  4. Or as the main forward with Suarez on right? Better option than Borini and, erm...

Lots of time for Dirk as a footballer and as an individual. Sad to see him go but I hope he has a great time in Turkey. In his own way he has become a Kop Legend

I didn't think he was an especially gifted player but you cant doubt he gave everthing for the shirt when he played.

Kuyt, maxi and Suarez in a front three was surprisingly effective at the end of that season.

I'm not sure about that. The famous patience everybody now boasts about having was thin on the ground for him, too. "Not good enough to play for Liverpool " and "No first touch" were common criticisms.

Was it a mistake for Kenny to bench the older players who'd gotten the form of 2nd in the half-season but would be too old soon? We'll never know but Kenny was told he had three years to build so spent one getting youngsters bedded in. It had to be done and Rodgers is the one benefitting now, if you can call what he's achieving a benefit.
