Its the first Cheltenham meeting of the new National Hunt season with some decent runners taking part. Also we have Fakenham Haydock Wolverhampton and Dundalk. Redcar has been abandoned. Cheltenham 3.20 Wiffy Chatsby 6/1 Race fit and this one looks progressive. Cheltenham 3.55 Sire Collonges 7/2 Impressed me with his win at Fontwell Cheltenham 5.05 Time For Spring 15/2 Had a pipe opener and has top amateur S W Cohen booked for the ride. I hear Montbazon is out for the season
Nothing like getting your Cheltenham thread up and early Bucks... Might have a look when i finish work later tonight...
Really fancy Sivola De Sivola 7/1 tomorrow in the 3.20 Cheltenham and he's my NAP. Write up to come in due course.
Lets have some views nice and early as I need all the help I can get when on the course tomorrow. Just getting ready to have a look at the form myself, but already noticed that the Irish look to hold a strong hand.
Three from me at Cheltenham Special Account in the 2-10 Go All The Way in the 2-45 Sea of Thunder in the 3-55 GL
Main bet Sea Of Thunder though - proper good novice chase and should come on tons for his reappearance (where he won as he liked)
If the ground is faster than currently stated then I think Sea Of Thunder could be one to be with. If it isn't then I am tempted to go against him. Fascinating card, my early thoughts are on the blog but I am a bit confused at the minute!
Oh bollocks, Lay King and OddDog on collison course in the opener . Have a saver on Village Vic (NAP) will you Oddy
Can't follow your logic Toppy I'm afraid - The New One had Village Vic well behind in the festival bumper and has had the benefit of a run over hurdles already. If I were to pick one each way in the race it would be Jeremy Scott's Special Account - yard in decent form with a 22% strike rate this season. Nass - I think the ground will be fine for Sea Of Thunder
The logic is certainly in The New One's favour, but I'm sort of reading between the lines and think there are two horses who might see the trip better and might also be better with an obstacle. Will be an informative little race though from a non-punting perspective! Has there been much word on Graham Wylies nice types with Paul Nicholls and Mullins this season?
Only thing I saw was a brief interview with Wylie on Sporting Life, talking about his new purchases - here http://www.sportinglife.com/racing/news/article/465/8103414/wylie-excited-about-new-season
Someones been having a laugh on the Racing Post votes today- at the moment 18% are of the opinion that Bullet Train will win the Champion Stakes. Haha. Interestingly though, Frankel available at 2/9.
Brilliant card at Cheltenham tomorrow John Ferguson should have plenty of winners tmz mainly at Fakenham (12.00 pm start) but POPULATION could make a winning debut over hurdles at Chelts. KING OF THE NIGHT is my NAP
Very interesting runner. Didn't Harry Fry basically train him for Nicholls? The dickhead who does the write-up on Sporting Life has written "King Off The Night having his first start for yet another new yard" He had 1 race with Maguire in Ireland and has basically been in Nicholls satellite with Fry ever since - just went to Fahey for an abortive spin on the flat in between.
That first race a Fakenham looks a decent little contest - in fact there are some nice novices out in a number of the races on the card.
A tenner says that Sir Barney comes on tomorrow and says "The old Pertemps qualifier at 3.20 has more plots than an Agatha Christie novel"
