Luiz has never lost to Spurs (although you could say the same for most Chelsea players over the last 20 years). JT is a massive blow as is potentially losing Dembele. With these two out the side IMO there is no way either side will keep a clean sheet
I think he was talking about United. Obviously we're not playing you at Stamford Bridge Anyway, records are there to be broken, as United found out and now half of their squad know what it's like to lose against us
I can't see it. It's not like United are brilliant at the back either. Even without JT I'd still back us to win. We'll dominate them in midfield and have most of the ball so there will be more pressure on their back line than ours. Liverpool and Southampton were both unlucky to lose, if you factor in that United haven't at all looked good in any away game bar Newcastle.
I thought we'd beaten chelsea fairly recently? Other than the cup i don't really remember losing to them though.
April 2010 was the last time and there have been 5 meetings since. It was the time where you got that dodgy penalty and Bale raped us. Should have been 6 or 7 but for Cech
3 x PL encounters since Luiz joined you. He played in one - the 2-1 loss where both your goals were suspect and was substitute for 30 mins in the draw at SB. Aren't stats wonderful.......
We lost 2-1 to them at Stamford Bridge in the season before last, Spurm. Their first goal didn't cross the line and the second was offside, if that jogs your memory. Sandro scored for us. DL's memory's going a bit, as Chelsea have lost to us as recently as 2010.
It's tricky trying to follow what's going on via Twitter, at least I'm finding it so, but it seems we have no further injurues, so Dembele should play, which is great news, if true. Terry out is good news, but may not be that important, as Luiz looks better this season AFAICS, but if a Chelsea fan told me different I wouldn't argue. Lloris; Walker WG SC JV; Sandro MD Bale Lennon Ade for me, the 11th could be Defoe Siggy Dempsey, I think i'd go for siggy on account of Dempsey's travels, but if Dempsey was fine Saturday morning, play him.
Is Luiz ok to play after this unfortunate (hilarious) mix up in Brazil's recent friendly with Iraq?
jut seen this: "#thfc AVB says there are no new injuries after the international break: "We certainly don’t expect any problems. Everyone is feeling okay."" sounds like Dembele was an exaggeration. very very good news. "in the last six league games against Chelsea at home, Tottenham are unbeaten, 3 wins & 3 draws" - with Lampard, Terry and Bertrand out, hopefully we can improve that record further. COYS!
PNP I said Spurs had beaten us in April 2010 if you read my earlier comment. Relayer Luiz played in the 5-1 but went off injured
Yep Roo, that's the Twitter info I was referring to. I don't think the Dembele injury was an exaggeration, why would the Belgian manager lie about that? Anyway it seems like it's great news, and we have a real good chance of beating Chelsea, some very, very, tricky calls for AVB to make yet. Then we need the players to play well, and get some luck also..
i meant that we'd all got a bit carried away (me more than anyone) if there's 1 club we're due some luck against, it's Chelsea.
well for a start DL, we had that spell lasting for what, 16 years?, where we didn't win against you. hadn't you won something like 22 and drawn 10 or so?! what about the game at Stamford bridge where Sandro scored that beauty? forgotten about that shot from Lampard that Gomes fumbled, but kept out, yet the goal was given? or perhaps the phantom goal from the FA cup that was about a yard from crossing the line? i'm sure there's more, but that's all I can think of right now.
We definitely lost to you then because I had tickets for the game on the saturday. Was due to fly back from Portugal on the thursday but a farking volcano in Iceland decided to erupt!
