So are you suggesting that, in much the same way they would for a drama with a pulsating crowd scnene, the Beeb rustled up tens of thousands of supporting actors / extras to line the streets of Leeds as his coffin passed by?
No. I'm saying that by singing his praises the BBC drummed up about 10,000 people from all over the country (admit about 9500 from Leeds/West Yorkshire). If you don't think they would have that power then check your local church at 5.00pm on Sunday, there will be about half a dozen God Botherers waiting to die. Check it again when it hosts "Songs of Praise" and they'll be packed to the rafters! A suprising number of people will do anything if they think they'll be on telly. My point is that if 10,000 people from the Leeds Met district turned out to line the streets that leaves 990,000 who thought he was a **** and didn't.
im pretty sure for god knows how long , if i did an impersonation of JS i would attempt his voice and moronic tarzan call followed with :" now then ,npw then , come and sit on my knee young lad , c'mon lad rattle my jewellery" i for one wasn't shocked at the news !!! whats more shocking is the BBC had a pyjama party 10mins ago on blue peter , inviting all the kids to turn up in their pyjamas . . . i mean what the fu.... !
That is probably the most ridiculous statement I have ever read on here and that's saying something. I didnt line the streets for Raich Carter's funeral nor did over 200,000 people from Hull, it doesnt mean we all thought he was a ****. Same applies for when City got promoted, those of us who didnt line the streets didnt all think Dean Windass and Phil Brown were ****s.
