Bored, and fancied doing a poll on this. If other please state. There will obviously be many players that you're appalled not to see on the initial list, so sorry about that!
Well you click on the fella you think was the best, then you're done. If you really want you could make a case for it as well.
Agree PTF. You can only comment on who you have seen. The older generation would want Eusebio, Duncan Edwards etc in the list.
****ing hell, it's a bit of fun. You could just answer the question instead of picking holes in it? Or just not comment on it at all. Same goes for PTF.
Not having a go TTSF! Just saying it's an impossible question for me. Have seen some great players in my time but don't think I could call any of them the best ever!
LeTiss belongs on that list, no question. As does Glenn Hoddle. I'd still vote Pele though. Maybe it's childhood nostalgia, maybe it's the kit Brazil wore in 1970, but I have technicolor memories of the guy. Which is astounding given that no one I knew had a colour telly back then.
I couldn't name one player, but I must insist that you add Ryan Giggs to that list. It's criminal to leave him out of contention.
This is a hard one. My heart wanted to say Channon, Osgood, Matty or my hero Big Ron but in the end from that list it had to be Cruyff. He was not just gifted but was a very clever and intelligent footballer.
My bad my bad, and Joe I don't think giggs was ever in the league of any of those players, he's a fantastic player but if he'd have played for a shorter amount of time then he wouldn't get anywhere near the amount of hype.
Ahem, just contributing to the debate! Not trying to pick holes. Lamballana has done a good job of explaining why I feel that way too.
He's the most decorated player in English football history. He's scored 112 goals from midfield. He's been PFA Players' Player of the Year, PFA Young Player of the Year twice, in the PFA Team of the Year six times, in the PFA Team of the Century and BBC Sport Personality of the Year. He's definitely the best player the Premier League has ever seen.
