As it was the Serbian U21's wouldn't any sanction be against the U21 team, and not the country as a whole? I had a quick look at the FIFA regs, which seem to say that where a team (or its supporters) discriminate against their opponents, that team can be fined, face a points deduction or exclusion from a tournament. As they have not qualified for the tournament a points deduction and/or exclusion would seem to be unlikely (unless it is for a subsequent tournament), so I fear they will only get another fine
Be interesting to see how this game pans out with the delay, not sure about Cleverley on the left with his lack of experience.
What's the deal with Alex Bruce and N Ireland - is it via his mum? Edit - it's his gran, I probs shouldve googled first. I just knew it wasnt his dad as he was famously the only Man Utd first XI without an international cap at the time and he was often touted for England.
Does someone want to explain to me how that wasnt disallowed for handball? It totally changed the flight of the ball. It will barely get a mention but if ti was the other way around we'd be talking about it for 60 years.
It wasn't disallowed because it wasn't handball? It wasn't disallowed because the ref didn't see exactly where it hit rooney? It wasn't disallowed because non of the polish players appealed. Take your pick
Except it wasn't his arm or hand, maybe that's why? And when we we moan about other countries getting the benefit of referees the argument isn't nonsense. Furthermore, the main reason Rooney had space to score was because so many Polish defenders were pre-occupied with fouling Lescott. Like many nations, they can't seem to defend a set piece without fouling us. Agree with the person who said our passing is woeful though. Carrick is only there for his passing yet it's been ****e today, we need to get more comfortable on the ball in this country. You watch a Spanish or Italian player and they're totally comfortable having the ball surrounded by opposition players and they'll find a way out. Our players just **** their pants in that situation and kick it anywhere as quickly as possible. Regardless of the level of football, it's an English football thing.
I think you might need this... Specsavers Optician, 50/52 Jameson Street Hull HU1 3LS We look ****, Carrick, Cleverley and Rooney can't complete a pass, Johnson can't defend and Defoe only touched the ball once in the first 45.
So am i right in seriously thinking that none of you think that was handball or are you winding me up? It came off the top of his arm. The tunnel vision stuns me, you'd all be fooking crying if it was the other way around.
It hasn't really been his fault though, we've just been booting it at him whenever there's no space to play it short and he isn't that sort of player.
It hit Rooney's head, then his shoulder, then a Polish defender's arm. You're obsessed with a pro-English biased agenda when actually there are far more people in England who moan constantly about the national team and almost want them to fail.
I disagree. Rooney misheaded it, he lifted his arm, it came off his arm and then hit the Polish defender.
Aaah, but that's the can of worms cos even though the ruiles state deliberate I would suggest that approx 70% of fouls awarded for handball are not deliberate.
