Vettel has been the biggest gainer on all the rest and alonso the biggest loser after his spin in japan. If you have any stats to share put them here!!
Quite clearly a two way fight now, although i fear that another Vettel win in India will make things a foregone conclusion. Really need McLaren and Ferrari to up their game otherwise the run in could be one big anti climax
Alonso will have to give everything, (like he always has been). As Stone mentioned, if Vettel wins in India.. that's it in my opinion. And maybe if Mclaren and Lotus get involved, it could get interesting. Also which teams will help out RB and Ferrari. (Remember Petrov and Alonso in 2010)?
Agreed, two horse race, Lotus have flattered to decieve and I don't see them winning a race this year.. Alonso needs the McLaren drivers to be his new best friends as well as Massa continuing to race strong. But.. The RB8 looks very strong now, Vettel has hit a nice groove and I can't see anything other than the third coming of the âFinger!â 3 WDCs in a row me thinks!
Lotus will deffo help RB out, and obviously TR (the sister team). So, Ferrari-Sauber-Mclaren? vs. RB-TR-Lotus-(Schumacher... Vettel's best mate).
On current form I can't see TR and any of the Lotus drivers getting ahead of Alonso. On the other hand, if McLaren buck up their ideas, they can mix it with the Redbulls... But with McLaren behind Ferrari in the WCCs I think they'd want to bag as many points as possible to help in the WCC than worry about taking points off Vettel to help Alonso.. In short, the only people they (Alonso and Vettel) can rely on are their team mates, Massa is/will be more compliant in that sense than Webber, that is until Webber can no longer mathematically win it!
Good point about Ferrari wanting to fight Mclaren, so yeah it probably will be the teammates helping them out and having more of an influence.
From Japan 10 - Monaco 11 Vettel won 8 of 10 races with one second place and a DNF from the lead in Korea. Scary stuff.
Seb would of also been on the podium 11 races in a row if the tyre failure at Abu Dhabi 11 and Narain driving into him at Malyasia 12 didn't happen. Pretty scary stuff. But anyway 4 races in a row, IN! one season hasn't been done yet. Also another scary stat: From 09-12 Lewis has retired on the 12th race without fail, that's 4 years in a row...
McLaren to help Alonso and Ferrari? Have you people been taking acid? Does no-one remember a £50m fine, WCC disqualification and decades off bad blood? Pit-stops? Ricciardo in Suzuka?
If Vettel does win I'd rather he just dominated - at least then I wouldn't get a terrible shock, like 2008 and 2010. Any more heartbreak and I dont think I'll be able to post on here for some time. . Anyway, McLaren think Red Bull are beatable but what else would they say?
"We thoroughly blame Martin Whitmarsh for everything". Every McLaren fan uses that excuse, one day the team will too
Kept blowing that trumpet all last year didn't they? Anyway I don't expect for Seb/RBR to walk away with this title against Alonso/Ferrari, 2 tenths or no 2 tenths it will go to the USA at least. I just smell something bad will happen on the scale of Schumacher 94-97 that will reverberate for years to come. I would like to hope both sides will avoid any bad blood as it would ruin a fantastic season. It wouldn't be 2012 without something controversial to finish it off!
