From The Scottish Football Monitor, The Plot Thickens...

    Corsica
As you may know, our old friend Corsica passed away a few weeks ago after a battle with cancer – knowledge of which he kept from his friends and associates. Corsica was a well-connected, insightful and witty commentator on the RTC blog and often was able to shine a light on the darkness surrounding the issues. News of his passing came to us via a colleague along with some info he wished to pass on; I worked for Corsica and I have a couple of things to pass on: First, Corsica passed away 6 weeks ago from cancer (he didn’t tell anyone that he had it). I think you can post that he passed away on the blog if you wish.

Second, I am the charity expert he referred to at times. There is no further news on the investigation into the Rangers charity foundation. Indeed, it has all gone strangely quiet on that front even though a report has been submitted which I am told was highly critical of the Foundation and recommended severe censure of the trustees and its administrator as well as surcharging trustees for the loss to the charity but stopped short of recommending prosecution.

Third, I have seen reports today about the Leeds United buy-out and it might be worth someone looking at the links between Green and the consortium buying Leeds. Corsica was told by Ken Bates that Green had asked about buying Leeds just before the deal to buy RFC/Sevco went through and was given short shrift but Green was insistent.

Corsica was convinced there was a very strong link here though and thought that this might be the real prize for Green and his gang.

Fourth, the common link between Corsica and myself was the guy who made a serious £20m bid to buy RFC (which Corsica posted about on RTC) that was not even acknowledged. He says he has now heard of two other serious bids of £15-£20m(by RFC “people” in London) which were not even acknowledged by D&P. The clear feeling is that Green is in cahoots with Whyte and was always in on the scam with D&P furiously covering their backsides.
It is sad but necessary that Corsica’s identity remains protected because of his connection to players in the Rangers administration fiasco (regular readers will remember that Corsica claimed that a close acquaintance and colleague had made a bid for Rangers FOUR TIMES the amount that Charles Green eventually paid).

We have opened this page so that our community can show some appreciation for the Old Corsican’s contribution to RTC.
    Corsica’s friend also sent this:

I see a few comments on blog regarding Corsica.
I’m not able to post so could you let people know that I will pass condolences on to his widow.
If there is a heaven, then I’m sure he’s up there now and would be tickled pink if a “dos equis” or two was raised in his honour tonight. Hopefully everyone will get the reference!
    Corsica, RIP

Rangers share issue on course for target
    Published on 17 October 2012

    Richard Wilson

THE Rangers share issue is on course to reach Charles Green's target of raising £20 million.

The initial public offering (IPO) was launched last week, and already interest in shares has been substantial.

The Herald understands that more than 7500 investors have registered with indicative pledges that would raise £15m.

The IPO prospectus has still to be released, and no investor will commit before seeing full details of the assets and financial health of the club, but sources at Ibrox are delighted with the response.

Supporters have been registering in their thousands for a prospectus. Only current and former season ticket holders, as well as former shareholders, are eligible to buy shares, with the minimum price set at £500.

Mr Green said all the money raised would stay with the club. The chief executive explained the early launch of the IPO by saying it would be cheaper to buy in now, though he had to issue an apology to Aston Villa for disparaging remarks and miscalculating their turnover.

I always warned my Rangers/Sevco friends to keep Whyte sweet. Mr Whyte knows about a few skeletons and where they
are. The biggest surprise to me is how Sevco have got to where they are with the administrators toiling away with little
personal gain , give or take £3 or £4 million or so. Overlooking the whole thing with his blue tinted glasses was Campbell
Og who no doubt with the fine wine and big Scottish steaks will at the end of the day safely bring Sevco to dry land.

I foresee Rangers done for tax evasion and dual player contracts but Campbell Og will report that he looked into the
Rangers directors eyes and he saw Sorrow, so there could be no further punishment and Sevco are to be promoted
to the SPL at the end of this season.
