Feeder club? How can we be a feeder club when Benitez WANTED Benayoun to go. He would've stayed had Benitez not told him before the Hull game that he would have to find a new club. How many players have we previously sold to Man Utd, Arsenal & Chelsea?

You on the other hand have sold Bassong, Given & Carroll recently to Tottenham, City and us.

It is obvious they will keep selling their best players. If a clubs seasons ambition year in year out is to solely stay in the top flight (of which they failed miserably 2 years ago!!!!) then any player with ambition and who wants to win trophies will not stay around for long. It's not exactly rocket science, however there seems to be an awful amount of delusion floating around these Newcastle forums.

 

Our higher attendances this season suggest otherwise

Bassong - bench sitter.
Given - bench sitter.
Carroll - injured from falling off a barstool. bench sitter.

We got a good price for Bassong, a brilliant price for Carroll, the only one we didnt get enough for was Given. We've improved since we sold Bassong & Given and will hopefully be using the Carroll money to improve even more. I'm perfectly happy selling players at prices higher than their value as long as we replace them, just like you were probably happy to get rid of Torres £50m and replace him with Suarez and Carroll.

We sold Carroll because you offered a ridiculously high sum and he wanted to go, we don't want players here that don't want to stay.

Enrique hasn't said he doesn't want to stay, he said he's unsure, but if he does, we'll wait to we have a good transfer fee from him, and strengthen the squad.

Joey Barton and Tiote are our most vital players and they're staying. We sold and long haired string of piss that left because he was offered more money, and we MIGHT be selling another one, it depends. We're not selling all our best players, and with the money we're targetting players like Sow and Gervinho, so that would suggest we do indeed have ambition.

If players want to leave, we'll sell them. What's been vital in our recovery from the CCC, is the tightness and passion in the squad, and if a player would rather have higher wages and **** off, we'l sell them.

 

WOW bigger attendance's..wonder why that is? Could it be because you have a bigger ground?

All this thread does is reconfirm the IQ of the average Newcastle fan is just above a frog

Torres & Benayoun have hardly set the premier league on fire since leaving either.

Also, I agree that it's perfectly fine selling players above their market value and replacing them with better or equal players for less money. That's not really the point I was making though, I was just curious as to why Liverpool were a feeder club because we've sold 2 players to Chelsea while you have sold more players to the top sides in this league yet you're not a feeder club? Obviously it wasn't you making that point in the first place, but I was just curious how we're now a feeder club to the top sides of this league and that the Carroll sale doesnt' count because how much we paid for him?
