I agree on Pato. Struggling so far this season for form, not just injuries, but he's clearly talented. Lucas is an interesting one - sometimes I watch him and think he's amazing, other times it looks like he's trying to rely on beating players with pace and playing without any real substance. I'm interested to see how Ganso gets on in Sao Paulo. I was surprised that he chose to stay in Brazil rather than testing himself in Europe.

My XI is a little bit hypothetical, as both Vidic and Villa have both been knocked off their pedestals as world's best by injuries in the past year. So I'm kind of imagining them back fighting fit and at their best. And Buffon has probaby recently been overtaken by Neuer and Hart, but that's a bit of a romantic pick as I have a lot of love for GiGi, that beautiful little fascist. Also it's incredibly frightening how you can make a very good case for having Spanish players at almost every position except probably LB because Alba is a cracking player but hard to argue he's already better than Lahm, Marcelo, Cole etc. at this point in his career, and you've got to have Ronaldo in there somewhere as much as I dislike him. But everywhere else you could easily place a Spaniard, makes you realise how seriously, seriously good they are. Wish they'd just pack it in already and give some others a chance, it'll just be silly if they win the WC again, which they probably will, they're just being bloody greedy! In fact if Brazil, Germany and Argentina could all bugger off as well that would be lovely, they could all go and make an International National Super League with Rangers, who would probably walk it given the increased revenue they would receive of course.

On the contrary, his preferred position is RB but one of the things that makes him one of the world's best is that he is very comfortable at LB so plays there a lot for both Bayern and Germany. You could make an argument for him being the best in the world in both positions.
Fair enough I've only seen him at LB as far as I can remember. Interestingly looking back at my best XI I have nobody from the "best league in the world", which I am genuinely surprised at.
Yeah, I could have easily done the same but kind of argued myself into putting Vidic in. The Prem has some fantastic players but when you weigh them up against the rest of the world they don't come out on top too often, but I think that kind of helps give the Prem it's edge of competitiveness, which is usually why a lot of people rank it as the best league.
