You're not missing much at the moment! Torrential rain and they didn't shut the roof on the stadium! It's postponed for at least the next 45 minutes
Mind you my goulash with horseradish dumplings and bottle of Tyskie were lush tonight. If we ever play Peru, I'd have a moral dilemma on my hands - guinea pig and chips, anyone?
Worthwhile pitch inspection there from the ref. If anyone isn't watching, it was worth it if you needed a laugh!
Doesn't surprise me at all. My second wife was Polish so I got to know a lot of them (far too many). Hard workers, honest, but superstitious and racist as hell, and two brain cells between the lot of them. Mind you, had the match been in the Dominican Republic, the England team would have arrived without their luggage (stolen at the airport), they would have got to the stadium (eventually, after three vehicle breakdowns) only to find the stadium manager had rented it out to his cousin to graze goats and keep pigs in the changing rooms. The black players would have been kidnapped, thrown on the back of an open lorry and after a seven-hour trip in the blazing sun dumped across the border in Haiti. The rest of the team would have consoled themselves on the beach and, after discovering the local beer, rum, cigars and (especially) female company, would all have decided to stay and live as beach bums like me rather than return to their millionaire mansions in Congleton and Epping and their passionless clothes-horse WAGS.
The next time Sepp Blatter starts to talk his usual mixture of pompous rhetoric and total b*llocks, someone should remind him of this night, and of the organisation presiding over it.
Guinea Pig and Chips, go on then. With ketchup and maybe some extra tomatoes too. Norn Iron leading 1-0 away to Portugal ! Fair play to Sweden. 4-0 down in Berlin and they drew the match
Did that Polish press officer woman really say that their hot air system would dry that pitch in 30 mins? Wow!
Well done to England for qualifying for the 2013 Under 21 European Championships. Hopefully this doesn't get twisted into something else http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19971417 Some serious issues in Serbian football. The 2007 case mentioned in the above article, and the riots in Italy a few years ago. Maybe it's time for UEFA to act on them and remove them from competitions until they sort themselves out.
