Not World Cup but Zambia beat Uganda today 9-8 on penalties, after a 1-1 aggregate draw. That means they qualify for the 2013 African Cup, and we lose Mayuka in January. He scored his penalty btw.
Double post but anyone interested in a bit of African Nations crowd trouble see here starting about 1h45 in - http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=cbzRYgFbDbo#!
That beer in the bath got to you Qwerty..? ;] I heard there were fires started in the stands..? I'll check to see if that was true.
OK so no Lampard against Poland. Does Roy keep the same side? I would bring in Defoe for Welbeck. Not sure about mid-field.
Germany dismantling us was the most down I've ever been leaving a game...have little enthusiasm for game on tuesday now
how the hell can you play 4 defenders and two holding midfilders against a team like that, they have a population of 33000, its like England vs Portswood. Just need two centerbacks and the rest attacking players with two on each wing pumping those balls in, Baines played that way whereas Walker was crap. Hope Rickie did not watch it, must be terrible thinking that the England manager thinks Wellbeck is better than him
I think Welbeck is an exciting talent. He doesn't always perform but he is still young and improving and links up well with the other United players. However, if I was Defoe I would be disappointed to see Carroll come on as a sub ahead of me.
Against Poland we wont get many chances so I think we need Defoe to start. Welbeck isn't a prolific goals scorer
Welbeck reminds me a bit of Guly. Both strikers, poor first touch, score fairly often, and both pass backwards instead of taking on the player.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19951986# This worries me I didn't think anyone had a great game against San Marino! England can't afford to lose over in Poland.
MASSIVE punch up in the Serbia U21 v England U21 game. England are through but Danny Rose has been sent off and fans fighting on the pitch. Steve Wigley involved as well.
Poland v England is in doubt! Torrential rain has caused partial water logging of the pitch. Even though the stadium has a roof but the idiots didn't close it!
The way they described it, it sounds like England wanted to have the roof closed, but Poland decided they wanted it open, despite knowing that it was likely to rain. Now there isn't a groundsman in sight and they're still not closing the roof. Poland have made a total balls up of this.
It sounds like the game will be played tomorrow. I wonder if Cortese has anything to do with this, gives W Ham one less day with Carroll before Saturday.
